Stone Circle

Been going to Glastonbury since 1995 and only missed one since which was 1997.

Might be out on a limb but don't get the obsession with the Stone Circle.

Spent a bit of time there chilling and it's ok but never felt the need to sit there all night.

Suspect full of nobbers on laughing gas.

I was actually there for that Flashmob as well.

I don’t think anyone’s there all night. It’s more a place to congregate at a certain time of the very early morning when the music is shutting down but your body isn’t, and the sun will soon be up. I’m too old to get away with that without spoiling the next day, but if I was twenty years younger, I’d be there. It does look something special.

It's a shit hole with empty cans, bottled and nos canisters lying about everywhere while someone thinks they can play a guitar along with the wooshing noise .

Was a great spot for a while. Lovely views of the site, random people chatting, good place to stock up, some unique people hanging around up there, spontaneous cheers etc.

Been swallowed up by the SE Corner though when it started in ernest in 09. Both the Stoe Circle and the SE Corner are jaded shitholes now in need of change.

Not sure how you want to change the stone circle?  

nos and litter both noticeably better in 2019 and last year.

The field? Loads they could do. Add a few micro venues at the bottom/up the back, get rid of that god awful "secret" piano bar, couple of camp fires. Its a big area with not a lot going on.

I remember that Elbow flash mob singalong being mentioned on eFests. So I printed the chords and took my guitar and bashed my heart out. 

Later I realised that I’m really shit at guitar and haven’t really played since.

Micro venues? I wouldn't add those, but the days when it had fire eater walking around a load of drummers were great.  If they wanted to actually do something to make it more exciting then sending some performers to mingle with the crowd might help.

Although I'm not arsed to be honest. Just leaving it as it is works for me.

Was the piano bar even there this year? 

Anyway went through Saturday lunchtime was lovely and pleasant and quite quiet.

it was there. Checked my phone - i came from the piano bar Monday morning (5.46) and made a video at the circle, here’s a screenshot to show the atmosphere.

* - Strange (but true) - I think that the term 'eyebrain' sums up, with some noticeable accuracy, how or where my head is at, right now.
