Looks to be the bit I've highlighted red which is I think currently part of unfair ground rather than camping but could well be wrong!

At any rate I expect this is just them future proofing for the rest of this festival cycle and the next one to let them change if they want to rather than an indication of what will happen this year.

thats where the crew bar is, bottom left of the triangle you've highlighted, they have music there and a bar, so presumably need to be included in all the usual bar/stage regs too.

surprised this hasn't appeared in Somerset live yet.😄

Took them 2 weeks to pick this story up this time!

Unless they were waiting for more negative responses because they like stirring shit up.

Am loving the locals comments. There are a few new ones now. Gives you a little insight on the local chatter may be like. One person is saying this is a way for M.E's to ensure his descendants will be able to cash in too (too paraphrase...). Looks like some people may want free tickets too!

Give it ten years, these regional rags along with other similar "news" outlets will be history. No substance behind any of the articles, nothing new or newsworthy. Just clickbait platforms for advertising. Hopefully the public will realise it in time.

Somerset Live article notes if no decision is made by 31st March it goes to the new unitary somerset council - maybe they are worried about this and trying to get it through now. The new council is the result of gerrymandering i imagine so probably fair to assume that tories don't benefit the festival's licensing!

That's true, and it's sad because even 20 years ago they were often very good, and played a crucial part in holding local government to account. Now there's pretty much no press coverage of local government which is a huge part of the reason it's gone to shit.

Couldn't agree more. Our local weekly was absolutely that, very much produced by the community, for the community. Now, like Somerset Live, the website is full of non-regional, out of date articles, clickbait, spam, targeted adverts, and 100s of "you'll be amazed what 'x' looks like now" type nonsense

Facebook, Rightmove and eBay ruined the business model for local papers, took all the advertising away.

Turn out Somerset Live and the County Gazette now have the same reporter (explains why the County Gazette has had a lot more "non stories" recently).

Somerset Live in 2019 said that I'd brought my, and I quote, 'homemade garden furniture to the festival'.

Thanks Somerset Live😄

did you make it in someone else's home? 😛

The elections already happened and it's majority Lib Dem.

The council wards are bigger areas- that either goes in their favour because there's fewer local councillors who could intervene and derail it, or work against them because the councillors deciding it aren't local so don't understand it that well.

It's surprisingly hard to find ward maps but it looks like it's gone from a mix of Tory/green to just Lib Dem where the festival is.
