It’s entirely plausible that trying to find said cut through in such a state was what led to the plan falling apart.

Not the bar as such, but the seating area at Strummerville once you've got your drink is one of my favourite places - I try to make sure I'm up there on Thursday early evening for the lighting of the fire.  In 2022 I didn't move again that night as I got a spot on a comfy sofa chatting bollocks with random strangers (and sweltering in the completely unnecessary heat of the fire).

I'm over-invested in this thread already!

As I have said in previous threads, Thursday is my bar crawl day. This year, I fancy starting in Tricketts, finishing at Theatre and Circus for Doreen Doreen on Summer House stage, but making the effort to visit as many bars I’ve never been to as possible. I’ll keep you posted.

Yes, it’s absolutely wonderful, especially if you bag a comfy chair. Last year only managed to get a spot near the fence and another closer to the stage. It really is a hidden gem, a great spot before ascending the hill to WV.   and convenient long drops and bar nearby!

It’s my favourite place on site and I’ve only just learned what I call ‘the treehouse’ is called The Spike 😄 Sad if the disco ball and lots of trees are gone! That and Strummerville. Even with the inability to see with the campfire smoke blowing in your eyes all night
