youngfathers
After having been to Glasto 6 times previously, my friends and I thought 2022 was noticeably much much busier - and actually really unpleasant at times. Especially in the huge crowd e.g TLC and around Arcadia. Did anyone else think this and is 2023 likely to be more manageable? Hope so as it ruined the magic a bit

Zoo Music Girl
I wasn't there last year but this subject was discussed a lot in the aftermath of last festival. You might find this an interesting discussion:
dotdash79
Everyone put on weight during lockdown so the same number of people took up more space. We all need to loose the weight 1

CaledonianGonzo
In terms of tickets available to punters though it wasn't vastly higher either.
Supernintendo Chalmers
Same numbers, probably the same amount of space, same crowd situations. Sunday of course being most problematic, particularly around the teatime slot and headliner. Moving across site from the Pyramid after Elton could be a challenge. There is a dedicated thread already. Crazyfool01
I wonder if we might get the workers wristbands rolled out at some point ?
Leyrulion
Officially it'll be the same numbers as last year. There's a few factors that you'd hope will lessen it feeling quite so crowded: 1)It not being the first one back so there's a little less of an "unmissable" quality to it. So people who have staff tickets might go back to just staying for the day or two they need to rather than the full weekend I think they're technically allowed. 2)That it's the 2nd one back will also hopefully lead to a easing of people trying to bunk in. (Maybe...) 3)Security shortages are hopefully easing so they should have more staff to manage crowds and stop the above mentioned bunkers. 4) Everyone has last year's experience so they've replaced at least some of the experience lost by people leaving the sector over the pandemic. 5)They also got told to change their risk assessments to look at crowd draw by the council when scheduling acts so that should also help to learn from the issues last year at park/arcadia/Williams green/avalon. 6) Possibly more food vendors will come back to the scene after having done a year and being able to pay Glastonburys fees so the queues might be a little shorter at stalls.

The Nal
The queues were a toilet fire. I dont mind the odd crush here and there but its a pain in the swiss when every food stall has a 30 minute queue. Even at off peak times.

There should be no such thing as a spare pass out! It enables wristbands to be slipped off and taken out of the festival to get extra people in.

The photos on the tickets should help if the gate steward is on the ball, however crew tickets don't have a photo.

Boomtown’s effort last year was to cream a commission from all of the traders and to monitor everyone’s purchases. They’ve had codes on their bands to track entry and exit for many years before they went all controlling! marathonsteve
Some of the Recycling Crew had the QR codes on their wristbands so they were just scanned in and out
