i was replying to the post above where they hoped the raffle prizes might be better than the bid for prizes ..... with these being a couple of hoped for options to better them

If a dj set was on offer I'd be spending a fair bit on the raffle and then donating the ticket back for another raffle

I was thinking more of the resale market, where tickets would be scarcer and go for a lot, lot more.

Bloody hell what a grumpy bunch 🙄

It's only twenty tickets - many times more are carved off by grifters each year.   Or flogged by neighbours for far higher prices with no benefit to anyone. 

It's clearly raising a massive amount of money for a fabulous cause (which if you recall is a big reason ME lets us have a festival at all) with little if any admin effort.

She's even ameliorated people's concerns by clarifying about the raffles. 

Take money off the wealthiest - give it to the poorest, great idea - if only the tax system did more of that too.

Tickets wouldn't go for as much as these auctions are going for i meant

Now there is the question - how much a GA ticket go for if open resales were allowed?

If it was unannounced in say May after balance shuts quite a lot as very few would sell (although i think at a certain price few would be able to resist rather than actually want to - i think if they were going for £2k many would seriously consider just binning them off as shitty as it as thats quite a lot of money - could go to like 4 different festivals with that money or a dream holiday)

i guess the price of hospitality tickets would somewhat cap how much a GA ticket would go for.

If that continued and became regular you'd have loads of scalpers going for them and that would ruin the market kind of as people would be going for them just to resell.

won't happen anyway, although face value resale in some way 100% should happen for people who can't go but i don't think they have much interest in setting it up

Some of the hospitality packages make 5 grand for a pair seem like a bargain don't they? 

Was there a price from that person you had the monorail chat with recently?

Each auction bid seems to have gone straight to £2k and then slowly crept up from there. 

So general sale on an open market at about £1,000 a ticket?

Just had the e mail about it. A good cause that’s very important in the current economic situation,  and the raffle option should do well.

Hospitality tickets are £1200 each this year (face value) - so £2k for the package is not a bad price!

I don’t know … maybe there’s two tier pricing for music industry folk and Glamping folk 🤣

They went to great lengths to explain that they had no control over price increase (it was apparently around £700 last year) … anyway, with camping package on top it came to about £6.5k for two people … so Trussell Trust still looking like a better option 😀

I do wonder how many people bidding have actually read the description and think they’re getting some mega VIP experience for the whole festival. When they’re actually getting a pair of standard tickets with an hour stage side for an act they can’t even choose.

Any Hospitality tickets provided / authorised by the Festival are made available on very strict conditions that they're only allowed to be sold at a designated price - for quite a long time now (at least 15 years) that price has pretty consistently been approximately double whatever the public tickets cost.

So it's a pretty safe bet that anyone selling H tickets for more than £675 is either directly breaking the terms of agreement, or has sourced their tickets via a third party who is.

Amazing to see how much money has been raised so far really! I have tickets but would happily chuck in a bit for the raffle.
