I hope so! It feels like the right time. I'm sure the 18-year old me would have had a blast too, but I'd have been sprinting between stages clutching my highlighted clashfinder, trying to fit in as many bands as possible 😅 No doubt I'll have lots of 'must-sees' but I'm just looking forward to entering into the spirit and seeing where the week takes me.

Clutching your clashfinder and sprinting between stages is about to take on a *whole* new meaning...!

I'm excited about getting excited.

The posters for all the areas, finding hidden gems in the line up and obsessing over the weather forecasts even though I know it's completely pointless until a few days before the festival.

Once I'm there:

Seeing my festival family again, the sound of the first can of beer cracking open after getting set up,  The absolute sensory overload of the place juxtaposed by the serenity of the green craft fields, the food, the 4am walks back to the tent, having my chest caved in by relentless bass, watching the sunrise from the stone circle...

Can it be June please?

Let's give the newbies some of the best bits to look forward to!

I'm bringing an old mate for his first Glastonbury this year, and as always with newcomers, I'm deliberately being low-key about it all - it's just a festival with a few big bands, and the chance of bad weather and queues etc.  I'll answer any specific questions he's got, but I'm not going on about it being in any way special.

My first Glastonbury was when a mate gave me an an out-of-the-blue opportunity to work it, a couple of days before it started.  This meant that when I arrived on site, I had almost no idea what it was all about, which made it all that much more of a blast.  It's unlikely that anyone will have that level of naivety these days, with wall-to-wall YouTube and social media footage, but I reckon the less he's hyped about it in advance, the better it will be when he gets there.

guns and roses said no-one!

Any chance of deleting this?! Someone's created a positive thread with some decent discussion and you've done exactly what you've accused dozens of others of doing over the past few months. You're derailing your own site here. Maybe you have a buyer and you just don't care anymore? But it is more than a little tedious now.

You know all those people who say "don't plan anything, just go with the flow" or "just plan on one or two acts per day"? I'd like to point them at the blur that is Ben, with his meticulous plan (in portrait and landscape) zooming between stages, having the time of his life, pausing only momentarily to join in the group photo, which also has to be meticulously planned to fit in with the one 5 minute gap he has in his schedule.

The last few years it's just been my wife and I, sometimes catching up with a few friends of friends.

This year there's 12 of us going, some newbies, some returning after a decade out.

So really looking forward to experiencing it with a big group of my best mates again.

I’ve hidden your posts now. Leave me alone please. Questioning what you meant this morning has led you to call me nasty and a troll so I don’t even want I engage with you anymore.

It's also the people for me, my children asked me the other day if we were going with anyone else (we normally do other festivals with a group of friends and their children). I said no it's just us, but we've got thousands of other people to make friends with 🤣

I did tell them to steer clear of anyone called Neil though, just in case 😜😜 (joking sorry couldn't resist)
