Glasto Hacks

Can you tell I'm wanting to change the subject and change the tone in here 🤣

I'm starting to get excited! Thinking about keeping life as easy as possible while we're there, especially having the kids in tow this year. Couldn't find a thread for 'hacks' so I started one.

Here's one of mine...maybe an obvious one but was on the long drop last year and thinking, 'they could really just do with some hooks in here so my stuff doesn't end up on the pissy floor' and then it occurred to me...use the latch to keep things up... ta-daaaa!

Must be some more handy tips!

If you're a drinker always, and I mean, always have vodka and Kahlua on your person at all times.  Walk past a milk stand? it's white russian time.  Somewhere sells cold coffee? boy you just got yourself an espresso martini. It's a genuine lifesaver.

We often take a pre-mixed bottle of Kahlua and vodka for the same reason! Being able to get ice in the Coop the last couple of years made the breakfast white Russians even better.

My go-to was tinned espresso martinis last year. Suits me as anything fizzy ruins me! Any other 'still' drink hacks welcome!

If you're a wine drinker then some of the supermarkets had wine in plastic bottles, it was quite drinkable! Then I refilled it with boxed wine. The bottle is sort of flat and paddle shaped so fitted quite well in a bag or even a back pocket!

I find a lot of tinned espresso martinis too sweet but tried the Moth ones last year, they're a bit more expensive but taste nice and are higher in alcohol than most others so work out quite good value.

This is neat, I might do this. Trying to avoid too much beer this summer.

Yeh I do like my wine and the bags that come in the boxes are really handed to carry around and squidgy in your bag. But...wine every day I'd get a bit sick of. Had a delicious frozen cocktail from one of the bars last year! That gets an upvote from me! Can't remember where I got it from though, somewhere in the park?

I actually made several litres of expresso martinis and took them around in my plastic bottle bag thingies. It was a great pick me up change from rum or wine

There was also a place that did frozen margaritas near the bandstand that pretty much saved mine and mrs shanks' life, such is the power of frozen cocktails.

I got this tip from someone else on here...apologies for thiefing the tip!

Before you go to bed, buy a coffee and then decant it into a thermos before you go to bed. When you wake up, hot coffee good to go.

Love this tip!

I did it with ice and milk last year. Nipped to the co-op before bed. But the milk in the cool bag with ice. Cold milk the morning after, and ice for mid day drinks.

This is a good one! No queues in the morning

If it's a wet year then take some latex gloves, makes it much easier to unlace muddy boots when you're going into the tent.

I have a box of these in my van and never thought of this, thanks. Not just for Glastonbury but after muddy hikes too.

OK, so this is a bit of a weird one. Can't deny it. When in campervan fields, I am totally paranoid about losing my ticket, maybe lose my bag or leave it in a jacket that I toss away with glee after too many expresso martinis! I bought this which attaches to an undergarment and I always stagger home with my ticket in tact.
