Badlands
Festival fatigue here. Decent names on the list but there's very few I'd like to see that I haven't seen before. Sparks and Yusuf are an absolute win. C&TQ, Hot Chip, Royal Blood & Rudimental seem to play all the time. Candi was ace when she played twice in quick succession - fingers crossed she's still got it. When they're choosing an act like GNR over a smaller, but current (arguably more exciting) female artist, I think they create their own problems. Oh well, will still be a great weekend! I love Lizzo but I can still buy tickets for her gig at the Hydro next week. Her as headliner would be a huge gamble. It’s a nice game for us on here to go ‘oh just over promote a Female for the sake of it to fulfil a promise about Female headliners that was never actually made.’ Emily can’t realistically do that though. GNR, whatever anyone thinks personally are willing to do it, arrange their Tour dates to fit and take a much lower fee than elsewhere. Emily has said in the past she wants them and this may be her only chance to book them. On top of that she can still have Lizzo without having to over promote her. The ‘Pipeline’ comment is absolutely right, which is why Emily is aiming for 50% representation on the line up and not among the headliners. That’s how Female acts who are good enough will make it to the top.

I mean, aren't AM fairly explicitly working class, in their lyrics at least. Not like they're mumfords or anything.

Nice to see them not being slagged off here (yet) though! Sharleen's still got a great voice. Think it was way earlier, like middle of the afternoon I remember getting there middle of the day to find they weren't on

efcfanwirral
Beyond what we already knew, Manics and Texas are definitely on my list, want to see Becky Hill, Rina Sawayama and Lewis Capaldi as never seen them before. Hoping for some smaller stuff like Alvvays to pad it out a bit.

Do we still think they will play? I just cant remember the last time a poster dropped and then big acts were added later. mind you looking at the final list for last year, this poster seems very thin on the ground. Clearly lots more to come to fill the main stages, or less act will play each day.......

They've shot themselves in the foot with the headliners though. Would anyone have batted an eyelid if they'd put, say, Lizzo on as a headliner ahead of GNR? Yeah I don't mind GnR at all but lineup would have looked a lot better with Lizzo as out and out headline. Just bin off AM I say.

Glastonbury wouldn't have left them on there if they weren't playing. Why they're left out is curious. I really think they've tried to level out as much of the initial poster as possible for diversity/inclusion reasons, and kept back names which would further the "Glastonbury all white male snooze fest" narrative. That's all I can think of Edited March 3, 2023 by T-Mouse

Furq
This whole thing about naming stages/tents after areas... Means they no longer have themes. Which means 'names' are spread across the site. Which means many attendees are constantly on the move chasing the 'names', which adds to congestion and over-crowding. Imo, like.

glasto360
Adding Lizzo to the top of the poster next to all male headliners makes me think about the Oscars and how they started nominating more movies to Best Picture award to make it more diverse. Just bin off AM I say. She isn’t big enough. Actually think it’s pretty pathetic of them to say the ‘fourth headliner’ crap when she clearly isn’t. If they thought she was a headliner they’d have made her a headliner, not needed some token gesture.
