I got a sunburn on the Wednesday... but once it started raining it didnt stop.. It was gruelling (yet still I got the bug!)

Did get my wallet nicked from my tent, put it on my pillow next to my head thinking, nobody will be able to get that !!!! Then I fell unconscious and probably snored like a rhino 😂😂🦏 Lesson learned. Always in sleeping bag now. Anyway, 2010 was great.

wro_lap
For my first Glastonbury I ignored all the advice to not plan who you want to see in advance. So glad I did. I got to see SO MANY of my favourite artists all on the same weekend all while learning the reality of my dreamland and it was magical. Spend your first ever Glastonbury however YOU want, that's all that matters

-TLR-
i only really have book-end memories of my first Glastonbury. i got down to the field just in time to see the Levellers - i had a final exam on the friday afternoon and travelled up right afterwards, i literally had a cab waiting outside the school hall. luckily some friends got there earlier and put my tent up so i just dumped my bag and headed down. also this was when the entry gate for coach drop off was gate B so i had to go pretty much right past our camp to get to the stage. this is the reason we have camped in Big Ground every year since then. the next thing i remember is seeing Back To The Planet on sunday night on some stage in the Green Fields. two of my favorite bands at my first Glastonbury, absolutely brilliant. no idea what happened in between... can barely remember a thing.
Bike_Like_A_Mum
2013... Rolling Stones and Coppa Dollar. That place was brilliant, bring it back!! Weather was also decent for the most part except one day of a downpour!

Absolutely! I spent half of my first one watching acts on my own and it was brilliant. I was moved in so many ways just to be there. If you go enough times, you’ll see the rest of the site eventually, there’s no rush!
BambooShanks
My first was 2010 - While working on the perimeter fence towers, watching a guy parachute down and landing by the stone circle. It was chaos on the security radio channel. Pretty sure ME ended up telling the security to give the man a wristband. - The cheer from the other stage crowd when a solitary cloud moved over the sun for a few moments of respite from the heat - Stevie Wonder. What else can I say?
fred quimby
1982. 16 years old, had to wait for mate to finish work on Friday and we all drove down. Put up a tent somewhere, it rained and tent was flooded so slept in the car. Caught most of Randy California. Spend alot of time at the Pyramid saw bands, not sure which ones as they roll into one around that time. I remember thinking well this is the place for me. The first wondering away from my mates for a wee and then spending ages finding them again. The slow meandering through the crowd. The hot knife stall, people advertising their wares. People digging holes to have a poo in. Lazers from the Pyramid stage. Lots of laughter. Not sure if i ate anything. Think i had maybe had £20 and spent that on narcotics. The different tribes of people. Been going ever since (not 2009) .
BlueJeansAndWhiteTshirts
2010 The baking heat. (More of the same please). Discovering Mik Artistik. Feeling a Feeling of freedom that I'd never felt before. It was not the happiest period of my life at the time and that Glastonbury helped me check in with myself and allowed me to feel sad and happy and free all at the same time but also that everything would be ok. It's a strange thing to describe. I went for another consecutive 5 after that but your first always holds a special place even if it isn't your favourite. This is my best musical memory though.... that field was electric before Stevie Wonder.... Just random dancing , charging out the shed after entering via the secret passageway and the random taps on the shoulder from the skeletons in there
Adammm
2004 was my first and we had in a row James Brown, Supergrass, Morrissey and then Muse to close the festival. I remember feeling so emotional that afternoon/evening and I kept randomly crying tears of happiness. 19 years and 9 Glastonbury's later I still do this and it's always on the Sunday when the lack of sleep is catching up with me and my defences are down!
