EU bands denied entry

I'm seeing that, after Trigger Cut were denied entry to the UK - despite having 7 gigs booked - another EU band, Krank, has been denied entry.

On Twitter a band member claims that an official said (effectively) "you're not the Rolling Stones or The Beatles".

What chances that some bands could have difficulties getting to Glasto (or other festivals for that matter)?

There was a thread on the Reddit GreenAndPleasant sub forum in the last week or so about a German band being turned away from Calais. Maybe one of the ones mentioned?

Totally wrongly apparently. Someone fucked up.

Have wondered previously if some of the no shows at Glastonbury recently may have been down to changing visa/entry rules.

Fucking Brexit! It's over complicated bureaucracy bollocks for bands in both directions. And for acts from outside the EU as well.

I believe Sir Elton of John was amongst many who have tried to point out to our dear leaders just how bollocks things are.

And after a quick Google:

Reg has been one of the (very few) legendary/heritage acts to point out the facts about Brexit and its effect on touring musicians. Most have kept quiet or gone on about it not changing a thing like Roger Daltrey.

Glastonbury is one of the (fairly decent number of) Festivals that's exempt from visa rules so it's not a direct factor.

Where it may become an issue is if the act needs do other gigs to make the trip worthwhile and struggle getting the relevant paperwork for those.

Well, from my perspective that's a pretty shit list.

I've got a 'volunteer' ticket for ArcTanGent

And, as usual, a ticket for End Of The Road this year

neither of which are on the list
