Nothing to do with coach travel, queues or any off that.

More to do with having a dedicated camping spot, being able to drive to your pitch and if lucky keep your car there. Not having to carry loads across fields. Access to more and IMO better bars. Being able to take short cuts. Not having to endure the SE corner one way system. Having easier access to showers. Being able to arrive early and leave late. Getting fed, at least once per shift, etc, etc

You forget not having to work though. I’d sacrifice all those things you mentioned for not having to work 3 x 8hr shifts!

I finish working at midnight on the Wednesday.

I also don't have a set number of shifts or number of hours. We do what is necessary to ensure the work is done.

When I arrived last year and asked what my shifts were, the reply was "you haven't got any this year, we just want you around for your knowledge and experience".

Ah yeah. That’s awesome and I appreciate working it is it’s whole own experience. Most people working won’t be in that fortunate position though.

Putting this here ahead of the coach times which for those non-regular forum users looking for the answer...last year the emails went out on 25th May 2022 so expect something similar this time round.

I'm booked on a Weds return coach from Oxford which last year was an 0615 departure and an 0530 return.  Pick up point was Beaumont Street opposite the Ashmoleum Museum

🙂

Is that a half 5 in the morning return on the Monday ? Really hoping mine is an afternoon one.

Yes was 5.30am Monday morning I'm afraid!

Myself and three friends packed all our stuff up (tent and kit) and went and used the lockups by PGA and pulled an all nighter, however one friend changed her mind and went back and got her tent out and slept next to the lockups whilst the rest of us stayed out.

We watched Bicep headline West Holts, then went to the glade and finally the Stonebridge bar until around 4am...took a slow walk back to the lock up, got our bags and then walked round to the coach departure point for about 5.10am. Got on the coach and went home.....got back to Oxford around 8am. Then got a taxi back to my house, was home showered and in bed by 9am when I then finally went to sleep (I was a bit in and out on the coach)

'All departure times / points will be released no later than 30 days prior to the event.' doesn't this mean that we should be getting them at the latest today...

last year the times were released 28 days before the gates opened so I wouldn't hold your breath!

It's a tricky one as to my knowledge if you want an early coach to the festival it means you also get an early coach from the festival. From memory last year my friends got a 5:00am coach from Cardiff but their return was 5:30am.

Nothing to stop you making your own way home if you can arrange anything though I guess.

I think it would be fair to say they are pretty casual about your coach home. That said some destinations might not have that many coaches. I've only been to / from Birmingham and Manchester.

Haha honestly think i've asked this a few times but thanks man. Been refreshing my emails waiting for times, then crying inside and coming on here to rant

I think the general consensus is they're likely to come the back half of the week so you might be able to stand down for the next 2-3 days 😄
