NOX is bad for those around you. Due to the number of cylinders strewn across ground, I couldn't walk across the Glade Dome dance floor without going over like Bambi on ice.

It looked like the opening scene from Lord of War.

Interestingly it's the only drug that is specifically (i.e. named) banned at Glastonbury.

I'm tempted to do a litter pick this year of just hippy crack cylinders, they must have some scrap value!

This thread...

(i am an old man)

I'm more "old man respectfully and constructively shares his opinions and observations based upon personal taste and lived experiences (with an entitlement to do so after spending £340 on a ticket), and despite the fact that (of course) the festival doesn't always get everything right, still thinks it's amazing value for money and the most wonderfully joyous five days of the year".

Probably couldn't fit that into a newspaper headline though.

Yes and you've put it beautifully.

Everyone's certainly more than entitied to opinions, it's just that less than fifty days away some threads seem a bit grumpy.  One thing for us, but not for first timers excitedly planning who may stumble across it.

How about a thread for popular opinions 😉

Do what I do, keep out of threads you don't have an interest in. 🙂

I think carhenge sounds fun (if maybe a bit novelty) but I hate this sort of thing:

At the centre of the henges, from Thursday 22 June, these “African Mutoids” from Kinshasa, dressed in scrap, fusing music, art, dance and fashion will perform and play their afrofuturist sound with percussion instruments made of trash from flip flops to plastic tubings.”

Reminds me of that band that were always on Blue Peter bashing old bins. Stomp or something?

Wish more people knew this - can understand why its popular for the short term buzz but people need to realise what they're doing.

Would be ace if secret sets were genuinely a secret, not sure it's doable in this day and age mind.

They've basically been pointless since reliable phone signal and secret Glasto twitter being a thing.

Before that the buzz about them was always great, once you learned Daft Punk were not really playing and stopped being disappointed

The following things should be left to professionals performing at the festival:

  • Juggling
  • Hula-hooping
  • Fancy dress

The latter went down well last time we had one of these threads.

Add “playing musical instruments” to that list
