Stating officially that the CV Fields open at midday and then letting people in at 7am... and dont tell me letting people in  keeps traffic off the road.. If they didnt let people in then the practice would soon stop.

*Note - I only dislike this because i tow a caravan from Cambs and it takes five hours on a good day...   🙄

I think there's a certain camaraderie when it's muddy, a 'we're all in this together' spirit and the belief that we don't care about that state of the ground and we're gonna party anyway, and party harder - this just isn't there when it isn't muddy. Maybe this comes form 1998 being my first festival, it's never muddy like it was then these days - literally seas of mud absolutely everywhere. Rain can sod off though, mud's ok but rain is just depressing.

And it's better for my feet. My legs are always fine after five days of walking, it's my feet walking on the hard ground that can't cope. Bit of mud cushion works wonders.

Coke is a bit rubbish.

Mushrooms are much better environmentally, ethically, psychologically and socially.

I suspect it's better if your pal isn't a big nutter the first (and only) time you take them.

Mine told me to eat half a tesco carrier bag full and then we walked to the Star pub in Wells.

When they kicked in I flaked out on the floor and came to with the whole pub standing over me looking concerned. A kindly lady said "I'm an off duty nurse, let's call an ambulance".  Needless to say we didn't and left swiftly.

Singing along to a band is overrated. I go to hear the artist, not 100's of the crowd.

Same goes to any other form of "de de der der, duh der deer deer" (papas got a brand new bag) ect

Of all the takes in this thread, this is the worst!

Wednesday and Thursday were the best days pre 2009

Yeah true, I quite like a Wednesday now but Thursday last year felt too rammed. I shall just take it easy this year and not charge about everywhere I think.

It seems a bit different for me since they brought in the overnight parking on Tuesday. Great for traffic on Wednesday but does seem like majority of people are now there early and more packed Wed/Thursday.

Better than being in work on Wednesday mind so i will not complain too much!

The crowds are pretty crap - as per the above comment not enough younger people bringing the energy.

Jo Rush has had his day

find some new blood

Bit of a harsh take, that one. He's very much part of the fabric of the festival of the past 40 years. However, I would like to see some new artists invited in. It does seem like Joe has a monopoly on the creative side of the festival, but I could be wrong on that

😅 opinions innit.

I get the crowd thing when big acts stop playing and the crowd sings along.

I'm more about the hundreds trying to get into a packed tent, stood outside singing along. All that can be heard is the crowd, not the act.

Is there anything I can do about it?- No. do I still go to festivals- Yes

"can everyone please be quiet? thanks " 🤭

Trust me having see the Stone Roses when they reformed the crowd sing along was a lot better than Ian Browns actual voice

Very true. I saw them at Wembley and luckily couldn’t hear his voice much.

Diana last year also got somewhat of a reprieve thanks to the crowd karaoke.

My rule is if I can’t get in the tent, I sack it off.

No visual on the band, no party.

Fuck all wrong with dad dancing

I agree.  And while wearing sandals and socks too. When you get to a certain age, sandals and socks are compulsory. It is a duty to make others cringe and squirm with embarrassment for you. When you can see the height of their agony, you must (as its the law) start throwing some shapes too. The viewing public must be psychologically damaged by the 'thing' that they cannot unsee!

Could be worse - you should see my modern dance interpretations. Worthy of a slot at the Barbican, in my opinion.

I know he's beloved around the fest, but Beans on Toast's politics are dated and (in my opinion) a bit cringeworthy. I used to be a fan, but hadn't listened to or seen him in a bit, and we ended up leaving his set at Shangri-La early last year.

At least one of his many sets in 2022 would have been better served going to someone else (preferably an up-and-comer).

Mutoid need to be dialled down and a variety of artists should be given opportunities.

Glasto on Sea is a pointless waste.

Dance acts on large/main stages don't work 95% of the time.

The SE corner hasn't been any good since 2010 and is now just a collection of small venues.  It needs it's weirdness back.
