Brooklyn lager announced as official lager

Not a ground-breaking score on Untappd, but not bad either. Quite happy for a change though.

Presume the OG Brooklyn Lager scores better than the Pilsner but this must be about as good as it's going to get unless you're tapping Pilsner Urquell.

Probably still won't have one mind, but it's the first time that it won't be completely out of the question.

I didn’t realise they owned Grimbergen or Wainwright. both of which I’ve enjoyed in the past, not sure if they’re still any good now.

 

 

I hope that means Grimbergen is back, they had it in the Theatre Bar a few years back 🍻

Is was £6 for carlsberg last year. I suspect this upgrade will set up back at least £7.50

This is a massive upgrade. It's still not an independent brewery, but at least it's drinkable.

How much was San Miguel last year £7? Hope a few bars still carry that aswell

Probably still an upgrade but I found the Brooklyn pilsner really hard to manage more than a couple as it's so gassy

Would have preferred Brooklyn lager which would have been a genuinely good step up, but anythings an improvement

Also secretly hoping this means a return of the Brooklyn bar in T&C fields

was it called the Brooklyn Bar in 2016 ? because thats when they had Grimbergen ?

I think so. Its been at San Remo/Beat hotel for as long as I can remember so also hoping that continues

Not sure if that was the name but they had a relatively big selection of Brooklyn beers available unique to that tent, near the swinging boat things

I've only had the Brooklyn Lager (which my local sells!)...is there much difference between that and the Pilsner?

Love the Lager - will try the pilsner when i see it. Fantastic news might not bother bringing beers in the cooler off the back of this.

Compared to Carlsberg and Tuborg, it's an improvement.

Not sure how much I'll be frequenting the bars though.  Between Glastonbury falling the week before payday and the (expected) higher prices for food, I'm not sure I'll have that much bar booze money available this year.

I do wonder if this means we might see a Brooklyn IPA at some of the bars as well.  It's not great, but it would be better than nothing on that front
