Olivia Dean in Silver Hayes. Joy Crookes / Cat Burns esque

Wunderhorse / Murder Capital in Woodsies. Both brilliant bands

Can't believe I missed that Olivia Dean had found her way on to the lineup! She is fantastic. If you haven't seen it, check out her Jazz Cafe set

Ah ok, don't know much about BCNR other than their bass player is Karl Hyde from Underworld's daughter. I remember I did hear a song of theirs that sounded a bit Slint-like. If you don't know Slint you should listen to their album Spiderland.

I'm guessing the the world's best Slint tribute act are Mogwai?

Worth knowing as stated above they no longer have the lead singer from the first 2 albums and no longer play anything from them live. The new material they play is from the live at Bush Hall + unreleased stuff.

The sound is very different to the first album and is more like "chamber indie pop" flute, violins, keyboards. Songs with minimal drums.

Don't go expecting them to sound like slint or post rock they sound more like a very downbeat belle and Sebastian now.

I love both incarnations of the band but they are almost like a completely new band now.

Second Working Man's Club. They are brilliant live. Full on synths/industrial/new wave. New Order/Joy Division feel, great frontman.

Also would add Wunderhorse, Murder Capital, Panic Shack.

Excited to see WMC again - they were on the Thursday evening at Green Man in 2018 and they were a bit flat - don't think the sound helped. Can't wait to see the new record live.

I know the Bush Hall release, but do they genuinely play no songs from their two released LPs anymore??

These have completely passed me by... never even heard of them. I like this though. Does anyone know when they are on?

If you have a passing interest in jungle/ drum and bass then definitely check out Nia Archives. She has a couple of albums and is influenced by 90's drum and bass. Also I would say a cross between early prodigy, burial and radiohead (in rainbows). Looks like she is playing at silver Hayes and also a couple of times in Shangri-la.

Playing Saturday at Woodsies. A clashfinder has them down at 12.45pm. Preceded by The Last Dinner Party who have a great current single and getting a lot of hype (opinion divided if it's earned as yet.)

Murder Capital on after them which is a great way for me to start the Saturday

That sounds more like New Order that New Order did!

If that's the case, that is great for me. We are camping near the Woodsies and I can see myself there for WMC.

She is brilliant, must try and be there for at least one of her sets.

The Silver Hayes ones is ‘with friends’. She’s played with Roni Size before a few times and he’s currently not on any stage despite saying he’s playing, so could be there.

New discoveries for me is quite long as I've been out of the loop for ruddy ages.

High possibilities for me to visit would include Louis Cole, Folamour, Ewan McVicar, Camelphat, Laura Mvula, Say She She, Prospa, Kölsch, ho99o9, Nia Archives, Nova Twins, aaaaand Franc Moody.

I'm sure there's some more, esp on Woodsies/the Park, but my memory is getting a bit full.

They won't play any songs from the first two albums. Currently playing all of the Bush Hall tracks, plus a few newer ones that they have debuted on tour this year
