Normally I'd just move myself and my family away, and not be too bothered, but there are some situations like Glastonbury where you're packed into a crowd and it's just not feasible to move. Then someone in front of you lights up and forces fifty people to breathe in their smoke. So selfish.

I don't smoke, but saying it should be banned is both over the top and unenforceable. Passive smoking at the level it occurs now is so minimal that you'll be having more harm done to you by traffic fumes.

Deffo.. we have moved on from the cig burns in clothing from others in low ceiling venue crammed in watching a band and breathing 20 Benson in an hour.

 

I have never smoked but would not want to ban it.

People probably would've said that about smoking in buildings at one point though. And you've got to think of people with underlying illnesses. I know someone with bad asthma, and it's definitely harmful to them if someone lights up in close proximity.

 

I think they should go ahead with banning smoking for young people and gradually phase it out. It shouldn't be too long before the smokers croak it, surely.

 My nan smoked until she was 64 when my grandad died. She said it was too expensive for her then. She lived at home on her own until she was 96. 

 

I would imagine many of these vapes are weed vapes. Better a whiff of custard air than a plumes of skunk smoke. 

 

Mum and dad both smoked (Auld man had a lung out in his 50's and died relatively young) Me and my sister hated it and don't smoke. I think the level of ban is spot on now.

I think that festival goers are far less tolerant of things these days.

My best mate took up smoking at 20, I remember having a conversation with him about it at the time, he'd got this far without fags, why start now?

 

Anyway, he wouldn't be told and eventually gave up when he was 53. He was diagnosed with lung cancer at 54 and was dead at 55.

 

My dad was a heavy smoker, dead at 62. My uncle was too, dead at 65, my old boss was, dead at 62.

 

As a result, I think anyone who smokes is really f**king stupid. I get the whole "it won't happen to me" mindset, but the chances are it will.

Keys of coke being done in the open... Even caught on the beeb... Pissed up people all over the place... Trying not to trip over people in a K hole on your way home at 5:30am... I could go on, but yeh, let's ban folk from enjoying a ciggie, or even a vape. 🙈🤣

Must be a surprising amount of people in here with absolutely no vices, considering the states you see people in on the farm, I thought the ratio would be lower... Let he without sin cast the first stone, live and let live, judge and you should be judged and all that.

Imagine a festival where they start really clamping down on all of these things. I think it loses it's soul. I don't do anything really these days, apart from vape and the odd drink, but it'd be a crap festival if they tried to sanitise the place. (Selfishly, I often vibe off other people, without having to to actually take anything myself... 🤣)

I was very much in favour of the disposable ban, because they're unnecessarily harmful to the planet, with better alternatives available, but trying to control what people put into their own bodies or how they get enjoyment, is a completely different altogether... Not down with that at all.

As long as people do it respectfully I don't mind. But making others, especially children, breathe in your smoke is disgusting. I worked at a kids hospital for years, and people, including nurses, would light up right at the entrance, forcing the parents and (sick) children to walk right through their smoke. Disgusting.

People are free to take whatever they like absolutely. Just don't want to be breathing in other people's cigarette smoke that's all.

What harm is having someone smoking in the open air in your vicinity doing?

The concentrations of harmful substances is that low that you are probably breathing in less carcinogens than you would close to a busy road. 
 

I understand that the smell is repulsive to many but that’s just a bit annoying

In an ideal world you’d get a couple of pills, an eighth of weed and a tab of acid in your tote bag on entry
