MrZigster
FF. First time I was ever beaten by a band. Had to exit via the crush barrier or I would've wet meself. The start of me questioning whether I'm getting to old for this sort of thing.
germanmon
I was all aboard the Pulp train for the Churnups and so was a bit disappointed, but this is making me consider Dave as an option next week instead. Good energy.

MrZigster
Hang on. Don't think I was working that year. Must have been another Liam performed year I was thinking of.

Better live than as laid down on tape that one.
MrZigster
Killers at JP. Bet that was legendary for anyone who got in. Never got my head 'round why this tune is so popular.
MrZigster
Barry Gibb. I may be getting teary and wondering why. Getting excited for it now. I used to be able to hit those high notes. '17 may have been the year I lost my voice. Literally couldn't talk after an operation. It was that or '15.
MrZigster
Should be Chic next then?

MrZigster
Best Sunday afternoon ever contender that year. Late '70s disco heaven it was.

I'm not sure how to take that as I generally hate DJs lol. Talking way too much and over the music and making it all about them... Whoops maybe. /s

Yea it was great (if you're talking Chic here), but the previous year (?) headlining WH was at a different level.

I'm talking both Barry and Chic. Was also at WH and that was one of those absolutely everybody is dancing moments. However, if I'd known that they would be back the next year I would almost definitely have chosen to stay at Portishead.
CaledonianGonzo
There was 4 years between Chic sets in 2013 and 2017.

Still a big part of me wishes I'd stayed at Portishead.
MrZigster
Janet Jackson. Better not say too much or that rabid superfan might make a return. Was deffo volunteering that year.
MrZigster
Now this is the Liam set I got cross about. Crappy bar doof doof doof soundbleed bollocks.

MrZigster
Last one pre covid of course. Possibly the end of an era? Won't be quite the same ever again? Hope that I'm wrong and they sort some of the issues from last year.
MrZigster
The Killers and THAT bloody song again. I was at The Acoustic watching Hawkwind (after catching the end of Keane iirc). One of the best light shows I've seen there. My mate back at home watching on telly was shocked I wasn't at The Killers. I was a bit cross when he texted me to inform me a Pet Shop Boy had made an appearance. That would have been the better tune to include surely rather than this overplayed thing. MrZigster
The unfortunately short lived Pangea. A pity that didn't get a chance to evolve. Brilliantly Glastonbury idea though. Let's buy a crane for a pound and turn it into a disco. Eyesore my arse. Sod the council or whoever on that one.
MrZigster
Think the best thing I saw that year was Slowthai the (allegedly) gropey git. Wasn't into the music, or him, but f**k did he make WH happen with that mosh pit. Glad I didn't go further forward.

Saying that though, just remembered Beans on Toast at Greenpeace on the Thursday (I think). That was something else. Perfect first act type thing (though I think I'd probably seen Mik Artistik at Croissant Neuf Bandstand on the Wednesday, as is traditional).
