.. and while we're wishing for things, I wish that next year they upgrade the electronica and dj sets to levels we have become accustomed to in 2022 and earlier. The '23 edition (bar a few exceptions) was definitely lacking and even insulting in some cases (Calvin Harris et al). So perhaps a welcome return to Moderat and aphex twin, FlyLo, Anthony Naples (who released a gourgous album recently), James Blake (new single is a killer), Clark, SBTRKT or Jon Hopkins (I could go on and on)?

Valid point and really good names. The electronica and dj lineup will be affected by the Sonár program too...

I agree. BTW, I didn't find the Sonar '23 lineup particularly inspiring either (though admittedly my brother who attended said that it was way better than the sum of its parts)

I think Calvin Harris has some dirt on them or something, Gabi wouldn't have even let him in as an attendee some years ago.

Also my friends said Måneskin was the most pathetic thing they've ever witnessed and the large majority in the back of the crowd seemed to feel the same so I hope they've learned.

If budgets from above acts is set free, I'd actually like to see bookings like Ghost resume. I don't personally have any interest in metal, but I always thought it to be weird that "harder" music - while present in the form of Napalm Death etc - never really culminated in bigger acts except for Slayer 2017.

I think they tried to follow a defined "curatorial" path on the lineup definition (which is in general a positive thing), but I have to admit that I wasn't particularly inspired too. It's true that at the end I had a good time and saw some very interesting show.

I'm very interested to see who they are going to book for next year.

anything in particular? Fever Ray?

Loved a lot Marina Herlop, Bored Lord, Aphex Twin, Fever Ray and Parkineos. Both The Blessed Madonna and 2manydjs were a fun party.

I was checking who (from the '23 lineup) could play Primavera in 2024...maybe Bicep? Koreless?

Bicep have played before (both dj set and live) and I imagine will fit well again though am not aware of any new material(?) Koreless would be amazing, Fever Ray too, Max Cooper in the Auditori? 2manydjs (always) and perhaps anz?

What about foo fighters . Play Manchester on 13 June , no European dates announced so far

Although it may change as the festival goes a little more commercial, Foo Fighters don’t really strike me as a Primavera act. Bit too meat and potatoes rock, not enough indie cred etc.

Yeah that what I mean, before this year's lineup I wouldn't have them , but after Calvin Harris anything possible.

The Foo Fighters are a legitimately good band, but they have a fanbase that has little to do with PS. Calvin Harris presumably drew some people to PS who would've never went otherwise in a genre they want to push into further (pop that ist, not EDM), but Foo Fighters mainly cater to the crowd that will watch capital R Rock acts that just manage their past success. And that does not fit PS at all.

I guess Paramore qualifies as a strong rumour? Admittedly its not really easy to hop off such a massive production and play side dates, but for something like PS they'd do that I'd bet

Paramore opening for Taylor Swift European tour with a gap after her 30/05 Madrid date...

I know it's 99.9% not going to happen, but could that 1 June gap in Taylor's tour (Madrid on 30 May, Lyon on 2 June) be a Primavera headline slot for her, never mind Paramore?

Obviously we know she's not doing Glastonbury which makes any festivals unlikely, but Prima seems like one of the few which has the size, cache and perhaps cash to try?

Spanish people, is it strange that she's not doing a Barcelona show on her regular tour? It looks like an odd omission (unlike, say, missing Manchester cos she's doing Liverpool just up the road).

There's also a second gap on 31 May, no?

Normally I'd say no chance as is a stadium tour but that didn't stop DM this year...

Interesting.

I was wondering cos she's got that indie-ish cred now, and we all know how much Primavera loves The National, so she'd only have to bring some of Folklore/Evermore along to fit in!

I guess on the one hand booking her when she is not playing festivals would be a huge coup as a guaranteed ticket sales winner. On the other hand, it would also eat up a lot of the budget and damage the rest of the lineup.

Plus, why not announcing her now if she has her dates out already?
