Play Hard Stage lineup already in the app. Don't know anyone. Looks like the line-up is now complete, hopefully there are no last minute drop-outs.

Good spot. Small names at the small stages this year.

I'm quite surprised with the lack of additions since the lineup drop. Not 1 even mid-sized name even after FKA Twigs dropping out. I wasn't expecting a headliner but to get nothing is unusual.

Wait til you see who they replace Lana Del Rey with…

That looks like your classic National set at Razzmatazz anyway. Hope it was a good one folks, but am glad I didn't miss a secret full High Violet or Boxer show or something!

After seeing that setlist, I’m very jealous.

Anyone at the opening concert tonight? People saying it's busier than even 2022 was. Really hoping this isn't the general experience?

It wasn't quite as bad, especially as say the first Thursday. I think the issue is the Amazon stage just doesn't work without the rest of the Forum open. With all the food outlets/bars etc there really isn't much breathing room.

Yep,  very busy at the festival tonight. Although I think that's just a symptom of having only the one stage open. Was kind of chaos before and after the Stella Marris set but nothing like 2022 vibes, that's definitely an exaggeration. Maybe 10 minutes wait time at the bar? Will be all good come tomorrow I'm sure

Overcrowding at opening night definitely felt more intense than any previous year. Queues for a drink at some bars were 15+ people deep but they went relatively quickly. Going to assume Stella Maris injected a big crowd and also Phoenix being a pretty big opening act made it feel so packed. Hopeful tomorrow will feel like opening day last year.

I came after the National and got there about the time Stella Marris finished, and was able to find a very good spot about 5 meters from the stage for Phoenix.

There was a big rush out before Phoenix, probably a lot of locals came only for SM

Phoenix smashed it tonight. Never been to Primavera before but it felt very busy and I hope it doesn’t feel like that over the weekend. Girls toilet queues were pretty horrendous during Phoenix on the left hand side and it doesn’t look like the festival has enough toilets for the capacity.

I'm confident that it'll be much better for the main festival

The National finished their set at 21:18 and I was still able to get to the Amazon stage at 21:38 (I used the subway and no running was involved).

I just came for Phoenix and left right after they finished, no drinks, no toilets, so I actually didn't have a chance to notice if it was too busy or not.

I've seen four sets so far and I'm yet to see one that is not great.

What I love about the ciutat gigs is how once the musicians appear on the stage (whether it is a small finnish duo or a band headlining the festival) everyone goes completely silent. Constant chatting during Phoenix was a harsh return to festival reality.

That’s a shame. So annoying when you’re really looking forward to a band.

Does anyone know if the band merch will be in the same place as where they were selling all the Primavera stuff yesterday? I actually quite liked some of the Primavera merch but not sure where I should buy it as I’m missing the Saturday and not overly keen on the lineup.

Also a bit annoying about the Access Ticket app payment not working and having 20 euros just sitting there. I know we get it refunded if we don’t spend it but it’s just have been handy to have been able to use it.

First night is always a little crowded because there's nowhere for anyone to go, plus the locals can come along too. And Phoenix are quite a popular band for that slot. I remember seeing a big crowd at Wolf Parade one year!

I wouldn't worry - when the full site is open, people will disperse better and you can move around in search of toilets etc if queues are bad in one area.

The main arena will be busy for the biggest acts, that's to be expected. If it isn't your vibe (it usually isn't mine!), then there's plenty more to see around the edges anyway.

Have fun!
