Pretty quiet in terms of festival season. I guess the earlier announcements of the post-covid years are over and we're back to pre-covid schedules in the industry.

Yeah, but late November was standard (for festivals in general not PS specifically). In 2022/23 we had announcements in August/September for many fests

For the very large part of Primavera's history, the full lineup has come in January.

So I think we should be pretty happy to have confirmation it will be here in November.

Yeah I'm hyped.

It does feel right though if they're wanting funds in the coffer a bit earlier given PS23 didn't sell as well as normal and the whole Madrid debacle.

I didn't mean to imply PS was late, just that other festivals that came out with their line ups much earlier the two previous years don't seem to do that this year.

yeah. I mean I don't really care in the end, but I'd love to end the baseless speculation and have some names, that'll actually be around in June. Shortens the wait.

Will any festival ever want that risk again? He canceled half of his Euro Tour in 2017 (for stupid reasons) and one of the two dates he's had since (for understandable reasons). He must be the most unrealiable artist in the world and in a time of grave uncertainties for festivals, it would be a huge gamble to book him

No interview response like this can shake off the super odd vibes between Byrne and Frantz/Weymouth at every live interview they've done recently. I cannot for the life of me see a reunion coming anytime soon. I was initially hopeful but the footage of the interviews has since smashed all hope.

If there was no tour planned alongside these Q&As then I can’t see it ever happening. They’re not getting any younger and if they haven’t been able to squash their beef by now then it’s probably never gonna happen. Obviously there’s always a small chance they’re just being coy, but seems most likely that it took a lot just to get them in a room together and that’s where it’ll end, unfortunately.

I can see them do one MSG show or something like that (and I guess club warmups week before) but there's no way I can see them tour together

Saw Ichiko Aoba last nite and it was stellar. Shes an absolute Must for Auditori! 

 

Also, festivals in Germany just announced Avril Lavigne as a headliner. Anyone think she could end up at PS with the current Pop-Punk Revival going strong?
