Totally agree. Was only saying that playing a 40,000 capacity stadium doesn't rule an act out. On the whole though, bands that tend to play arena tours don't also play festivals. Depeche Mode never sold a Stadium in Spain, only indoor arenas. In the summer they always played festivals there. Bad Bunny is not playing a festival in a country when speak spanish, because he can easily sold a stadium. I understand Ed Sheeran at Lisbon because Rock in Rio is a very different festival, only 2 stages, 8 acts, they spend a lot of money with headliners and put any artist to fill the line up. The 3 artists are big, but we can see a lot of differences between DM and the others.
MrTobs
Loving the new Beach Fossils-album, they are doing a small tour in europe in february/march with no spanish date. They haven't played in spain since Primavera Sound 2012 according to setlists.fm, would love them to be back.

In the case of Ed Sheeran, he seems will be touring just festivals, since he was already announced for a couple of them, not only Rock in Rio. Last time he did a stadium tour, this time it seems will be a festival tour. Production is usually different from a stadium to a festival. Sometimes, it is not because a band/artist can fill a stadium alone that they will just do stadiums. Metallica, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, etc. are examples of that. They do arenas, stadiums, festivals, depending on the type of tour they decided to do.

He sold about 50 stadiums last year (or this, i don´t remember), so now he can do festivals, but, i can´t see him doing Primavera. Ok, Halsey, Calvin Harris, and Maneskin are all ridiculous, and are not Primavera standards, but at last they have a past, a fresh production etc... But Ed Sheeran never had everything. But, i can imagine Travis Scott (easy, he did SA editions) and Paramore playing.

And if those dates that he posted on YouTube are correct and he’s actually coming to places like Berlin, Thailand and Tunisia, then for sure he will make festival apprentices there or arena dates. I can see Bad Bunny easily having 2 or 3 sold stadiums in Barcelona, but I cannot see him with even 1 sold out stadium in Berlin, I live in Germany and I literally don’t know anyone who listens to him, most Germans never even heard of him. Besides Spanish and Latino immigrants in Germany, that are not that many, no one listens to him I think if there’s really a world tour then it should be a mix between festivals and stadiums/arenas. For example Rosalia, she could easily have a stadium tour in Spain and Latin America where she is almost as big as Bad Bunny but then she was doing festivals in other parts of Europe, sometimes not even being a headliner or even on the second line of the poster. festivalguy97
The possibility of having Lana del Rey on the lineup should be more discussed, I think if she tours next year (I read rumours that she’s certainly doing European shows next year) then she’s 90%. Out of popular female artists that can be possible headliners of PS it’s her, SZA, Kylie Minogue and Karol G.

I've really liked some of her music, but after her Glastonbury set this year I really wouldn't be excited to see her on the bill
Olivedal 1904
I see people here have given up and discuss the likes of Calvin Harris and Ed Sheeran. I am sure the lineup will be great in the end even if there will be two or three weak headliners like last year. I will attend regardless as I manage to do this festival for under 400 euro (festival ticket, accomodation and flights).
Olivedal 1904
Canela Party in Torremolinos/Malaga have announced their first few names. Big Thief headlining. Wednesday, Protomartyr, Gilla Band, Crack Cloud, Metz, Yawners, Triangulo de Amor Bizarro, Ibio Sound Machine, Home Front, La Plata, Cala Vento, Amigas Intimas, Margarita Quebrada, Prison Affair, Monteperdido. I would have been happy to see most of these at the PS lineup. Reminds me more of old Primavera. In fact, it seemed there was less smaller Spanish indie/garage/shoegaze bands than normal last year.

Halsey, Calvin Harris, Maneskin do not fit Primavera standards at all, but are not comparable to Ed Sheeran. I was just showing that the ability to fill a stadium doesn't mean that an artist/band will only tour stadiums. And regarding the video of Bad Bunny with places...isn't it just a music video? Would he be announcing a tour on a music video for one of his songs? Doesn't make sense. I believe people is reading too much from it. Marty76
It's probably my age, but I liked the times when you bought two tickets and simply received them per mail. I'm sure I'll manage to get the second ticket to my friend before May though once he has installed both relevant apps. Hotel at close distance booked as well, so super excited already and hoping for a great line up. Keep the rumours coming!
Last_Exit
Kylie for the Thursday night slot? She'd be a bit of a waste on the main days, but her own evening would be very good. Could make for a repeat of the good vibes around the PSB's and could also do a smaller club night.

And generally bands that tour in August don´t tour in June. Thats not really true. Many Acts tour Europe all summer long, especially medium sized bands tend to grab both the June and August festivals. Also, in the past Canela Party and PS have shared acts, so apart from those you mentioned that played this year, none of the acts there is ruled out at PS. The debate here has gone to a pretty wild place, with acts that are worlds apart being treated as if they were all the same, because they are "pop". Acts like Ed Sheeran would never play PS, no nod to Calvin Harris (who sucks but is close enough to the kind of pop PS endorses) will change that. Bad Bunny on the other hand would be the best fit you could get for PS, if he was anywhere near affordable. He leads a surge in Spanish-speaking music that is on the verge of becoming the worlds dominant branch of pop - and rightly so. No matter what some entitled white indie-boys (that includes me) think of him. I think what some people here misunderstand is that its not the content of the music that matters for PS as much as its the aesthetics of the artists and how they fit into the identity of PS.

Last_Exit
Not sure I'd want the Pumpkins there in any case, far too erratic these days. Those dates do line up nicely for them to play Download on the Sat or Sun. Weezer would be excellent though!
