I think it's gone to a whole new level, obviously age comes into somewhat (at least I think it does for me), I think there has long been arena size acts I'd not know, but big outdoor venues and stadium gigs from acts I've no clue on, it's interesting.
Did you HAVE to have radio hits before to do this, or did it just feel that way? Obviously music listening habits have changed, and that's a key reason. These acts can now reach huge swathes of people and have millions of streams, be huge on TikTok yet not be known to the general public.
It does prompt me to give them a listen, albeit a usually very short dismissive one.
The name Tinlicker does make them sound more like a folk act than an electronic one, though. I thought I may have been missing out. I wasn't.
