There are third parties providing helicopter travel for anyone that can afford it and then a shuttle to the gate. https://www.windinglake.co.uk/helicopters/ They definitely could. They could easily say that anyone they identify as travelling be helicopter is banned and make an example of a few celebs. At the very very least they could issue a strongly worded statement expressing their wishes that people don’t travel to the festival by helicopter or private jet. There’s a lot they could do

Other people may know someone who gets cheaper but I have used the same guy for my last 9 Glasto’s. It’s a hospitality ticket and they run a mini bus to the circus field from Windenlake every 15 mins from 10am - 4am. I like the quieter camp site, gives me time to get the old bones ready for another dance.

And when do they go on sale?? I get mine directly from the landowners but they also sell packages out. They run a ‘returning customers first’ rule and then you join a waitlist. We have been there 6 times and paid 2.5k each for the accom & EPO/hospitality tickets for a package of 2. I had a caravan!

airwaves
Little did I know when I started this topic that we would end up with several pages discussing the efficacy of allowing or not helicopter travel and then finding out that some of these off-site camping places cost £k's and £k's of pounds - quote "£38000 for a winnibego" - and DO include the ability to BUY TICKETS. Guess I feel even more piss-frustrated to have it confirmed that the rich can buy their way into Glasto unlike us plebs who have to negotiate ticket sale day 😡😡😡 1

George_92
tried to carefully step over/around a group of young-ish guys in the pit before Arctic Monkeys started (would've been loads of room if people had stood up). one dick head grabbed my leg as I did so, causing me to fall into someone else. not confrontational at all but shouted at him to "stand the f**k up" after that as I was pissed off with selfish dickheads causing issues. you're at the biggest stage at the biggest festival in the world, just before the headline act is about to start. how is it acceptable to sit down in a group at the front, and then moan and physically grab/ potentially injure someone/people if they dare to try get past you.

Lots of my mates go on the piss 3 times a month. I don’t, I save some money each month and this pays for glasto. There are a lot of rich people on the site- a lot of famous people stay there but there’s also a lot of normal people! The tickets come from the festival- it’s how they make some of their money I imagine.

Prices have gone up considerably & there are a lot more people there too. High end Winnebago there 38k for the weekend! (I was in the cheapest accom!!) - I only go when it’s the last resort for a ticket. It’s a bit far removed from the original ethos though and having been in the 90’s, I miss that vibe! Does some of the money from those ridiculous hospitality tickets go to charity? Otherwise I can't see why Glastonbury allow it?

Whether that is seperate to the main sale money, I have no idea. But the festival sets the prices and the numbers.

Totally understand that if it's doable for you, just hope it doesn't start to take away from normal ticket sales to increase hospitality sales. Obviously most people can't afford to drop £2k each on a Glastonbury ticket (or spend £170 a month down the boozer)
