It’s currently raining in Glasgow, Chris- you made your escape just in time!

The Glasgow weather is the worst. It could at least match Glastonbury - as I'm not going it feels very much like they're rubbing salt into the wound!!

Quick scan of UKV hi res for worst case possible rain prospects:

Wednesday: few scattered showers

Thursday: maybe a brief period of light rain on Thursday morning if it doesn't fizzle out before it reaches the site

Friday: few scattered showers

Saturday: heavy rain to the north, might reach us eventually on Saturday night. Again looks brief but could be heavier.

Sunday: UKV run only goes to 120hr

Nothing overly concerning - I'll just chuck the cagoule/poncho in the bottom of the bag. Looks like nearly perfect conditions to me on the whole.

For some reason the 18Z didn't run live last night, so no summary there. So, with only THREE reviews to go, let's see what the GFS says.

GATES OPEN & WEDNESDAY

Completely dry, 21-22.

SUMMARY

Another great run, though there is still some uncertainty about the exact facts of Sunday - it could yet be that, as on the 18Z, a little more heat builds in.

Looks like we've ... WON?

Two more runs to go!

It did run live, just doesn't show on netweather for some reason... It is available on wetterzentrale, much of the same though....

This morning's GFS is a little concerning, as the UKMO shows increasing chances of rain Saturday and Sunday too, so they're both somewhat in agreement... But we all knew that, until we were there, predicting the Friday, Saturday and Sunday is next to impossible. Still time for a few couple more ups and downs on the actual weekend itself... 🤞

Make sure to stop in a the George and Pilgrims. Fantastic medieval pub. The food is also excellent. Oldest purpose built public house in the south west

Beckets Inn has a nicer garden for this weather!

I'm on the coach, I'll have to leave mine in your car too

Personally if it was me I would wear them to the site then switch to trainers once you've put your tent up.

You never know with this country if the weather might suddenly change!

Would it be insane to go trainers only? Leaving the boots behind would cut down a lot of weight...

It would have to be a Michael Fish level blunder to be anything other than trainers right now. The ground is a desert and rain forecasted won't have any effect on the site

Do you have trail or hiking shoes? They seem like the ideal middle ground.

Nah just huge heavy duty ones. I'm a city boy, I don't really do practical. The last time I went camping I got lost in some fields, got scratched/stung to bits then fell in a river

I think boots for the journey is the way forward

Anyone know that the ECMWF is saying to it?

Every run I am seeing and every forecast (apart from YR) has 100% dry and YR has only 0.3mm rain and you would not even notice that.

The only outlier I am seeing is, again, YR and then only for Sunday when they have 25 degrees as a high.

My rain umbrella is still in my bag.
