Looking at the five day EIF's and the trend lines, got to say it is looking more favorable than it was when it looked less favorable. There's a high chance of a cheeky finger of pressure, right in the center of the long range, whatever that means.

The GFS is messy this morning for festival week. Looks like next Wednesday/Thursday is the key juncture, high pressure needs to build in strongly else it might open the door for another low pressure system like belowspacer.png

For the actual festival days its looking superb on this run. That big ugly low seems to be trending a bit further north on each run. Way too early though obvs.

The ensembles show that operational run (the chart above) is abit out of whack compared to the mean (red line below) so I would not worry to much about this chart as you can see by the green line (operational run) here - the operational is abit of an outlier compared to the other runs.  The trend is still for higher pressure festival week.

No seriously bad weather forecast for the run up to the festival once this weekend is passed, so good  for the build which should keep the ground conditions decent, especially with all the vehicles on site. I’m cautiously optimistic 🤞🙏

This might be a stupid question but if it's dry and the finger comes and all that, are we not expecting the heat of last year still?

Depends on a number of things, including the exact position of the finger.

Too early to be confident of anything.

But obvs if the finger fully comes in, it will be hotter than last year.

Don't even recall last year being particularly hot - and obviously there was real threat of rain on the Sunday.

LOL know you're on the wind-up :)

I think people need to stop worrying about it being super hot, there's no indications currently a huge about turn is on the way.

Ps my heating just clicked on.

It depends what you mean by "super hot" though. It means different things to different people. Some people think 23 is super hot!

Some rain here yesterday, but no where near enough to affect the ground. There’s still very little vehicle movement.

Given the weather the UK has had in 2024 so far I personally will be overjoyed if the festival weather is 18 degrees and mostly dry...................... weather like yesterday would just be so depressing and the cold north wind before that would be OK in  November, just.

The GFS makes no real sense anyway this morning. High pressure building in but temps of 16-17.

Ignore.

If the jet stream is south of us then you'll get high pressure and cold temps. Over us will be low pressure and wind. North of us, high pressure and warm temps.
