Genuine question: what is the point of looking at the models at this stage when they're constantly jumping around so widely? Everyone in here is going from euphoria to misery and back again every few hours - surely better to admit it's totally unreliable now and check a couple of days out?

Ok I'm calling this an minor substantial improvement on the 6Z imo

The bullseye on Sat has been obliterated. High pressure doing its best to reassert domincance.

It's a bit like people getting their hopes up about England in the early stages of a tournament. Some people just enjoy the ride.

Other than the tuesday before gates open. Looks essentially dry the whole festival in this run.

Just looks like we need the temp upped just a bit. But other than that its looking somewhat better than the last 24 hours.

Be afraid .... be very afraid ... it's the 12Z ...

THROUGH TO GATES OPEN

The usual small amount of rain on Friday night, then dry until ... Tuesday!

The low comes in earlier on this run, bringing a weather system of heavy rain close to the site on Tuesday morning. Almost all of this misses the site and hits further north, but it's a nasty picture before gates open.

GATES OPEN & WEDNESDAY

Dry for gates open. Highs of 15-16.

image.thumb.png.4fe99950496ad3fd2b654964e9835606.png

Stays dry during the day, but highs of just 17-18.

Overnight temps into Thursday of just 10-11.

The low pressure is more pronounced, but it DOES appear to be retreating on this run, which is on the right.

THURSDAY

Very, very small amount of rain about. Nothing of note. Highs of 19-20.

Overnight temps into Friday of just 9-10. Brrr.

Signs of hope! The high pressure looks to be trying to build in again!

Latest on the right, where that little pocket of hell does NOT develop.

FRIDAY

Totally dry day, with Scotland and northern England getting a drenching. Highs at Glasto of only 16-17. CHILLY

Overnight temps into Saturday of 14 - improving.

No green goblin on this run, but the high pressure is struggling to make the breakthrough on Friday.

SATURDAY

Totally dry, but highs (you what?) of 16-17!

Overnight temps into Sunday of, er, 8-9.

image.thumb.png.35b8abd827d90e52d4c4355819a80793.png

Unfortunately the high is retreating, with a pocket of low developing in the Irish sea.

SUNDAY

Essentially dry again, but with highs of just 16!

Overnight temps into Monday of 10-11.

image.thumb.png.f73d6fabf74e652b10cfd8184f999356.png

A similar kind of low to the 06Z, but it's developed from a completely different area.

SUMMARY

This is a better run in terms of the position of the high pressure, but it never manages to build in and temperatures are suppressed by the low to the north of Scotland.

It's an interesting run which gives hope, if not much joy.
