Hanging around waiting for people to arrive (who we didn't particularly know). We were being nice I suppose, but there was loads of other things we could have been doing, and when they did finally arrive and pitch up, they went off anyway 😅

Ahh god yes, I stopped shaping any part of my festival around others after year 2. Love people but they have to be self reliant and we meet up whenever, if it suits all. My golden rule.

Watching Roger Waters, who was great, and then not feeling arsed to move as planned to Air on the Other Stage. Instead, pursuaded self to stay for Rod Stewart.

BIG MISTAKE

My mates convinced me Rod Stewart would be brilliant.

We are still friends but I’ve not forgotten!

All is not lost.  The 'no plastics' rule only applies to traders - it's a sensible policy to stop people buying a plastic bottle of water or coke, drinking it and lobbing it in the bin.  The only rule for punters' bottles is no glass, so you can bring whatever plastic bottles you want to refill on site.  (You occasionally hear concerns raised about carcinogens leaching into the liquid if you reuse 'single-use' plastic bottles - that's bollocks according to Cancer UK and is probably a myth put about by companies trying to flog posh plastic bottles.)

But if you’ve lost the cheap plastic bottle you originally brought in, you can’t replace it….. 😞

I get the reason why. And agree.

The "no plastics" rule is all well and good, but when you want a cheap bottle you can refill for a day a plastic bottle of water would be perfect!

Yeah, in general I agree, altho I lost my water bottle during a sardine moment during Fred Again, and I stumbled across a metal bottle from the Co-op for a 5er. Was a great bargain as a souvenir and can use over and over. Way better than the metal bottles they were selling on the merch stands for three times as much.

There was a stall in Green Futures (Sex, Bugs and Rock n Roll) giving away free 0.5 litre metal water bottles. All you had to do was enter a fun quiz on who headlined in what year (didn't have to get it right).

I replaced my old battered water bottle, which I got from the same stall about 10 years ago.

Damn, and I thought my bottle for a 5er was a bargain! Haha.

Setting out at 3ish on Wednesday afternoon for a bite to eat and then an early night as we'd left home at 2am...

Got in at 3am, freezing cold, still no food and absolutely trashed.

Thursday was a Very quiet day!

Not forcing myself to down multiple pints of water before bed most nights. The one time I did it (Saturday night/Sunday morning) it honestly made a world of difference to my day despite the fact it had been a really heavy night. The mistake I make is I fill my bottle and take it to bed and in my mind that is me staying hydrated until I wake up a few hours later with it still half full...

Going way to hard last year leading to a visit to Bath hospital Thursday night and an overnight stay.  Irregular heartbeat was picked up by medical services.

Gotta say FMS and the Campsite Crew were f**king brilliant and I have contributed to FMS

Thank you. Hope you’re on the mend now.

Re: parliament/funkedelic we sacked it off after about half hour and had the best night I've ever had in the se corner. Think it was the last year of the alleyways

Biggest mistake this year was trying to chase the high on Sunday night. Just ended up a bit monged out and done a ridiculous loop from San remo to se corner then back to lime kiln for bed. Hit the absolute sweet spot Thursday, Friday, Saturday (never take anything on Wednesday)

I should have learnt by now

Got to the site Wednesday evening this year after sitting in traffic up to gate D for hours....that's not something we usually experience

Packed all our stuff up, trekked the 1.2 miles to Gate D

Unpacked the tent....no tent poles.....

Had to leg it to Shepton mallet argos to buy a tent. Made it with 2 mins until it closed

The Temple was insane on Sunday night into Monday morning, like an "old school" warehouse party. Not a single person stood still for more than a few minutes.

Taking too much. You never need as much stuff as you think you do. Finally learnt it but it took a few festivals when I first started going to realise just how little you actually need to take

Imagine unscrewing that entire bed in that photo that was doing the rounds on the Monday morning.
