99% of attendees would struggle picking him out of a line-up. He's not a celebrity or a front man of any great reknown and it's a slot that works best with a household name programmed in it.

Saw him at BST Hyde Park a few years back and even though he could hardly stand up he was still great.

Loved it, been waiting for years to see him at Glastonbury. He was meant to do a Glasgow gig but covid hit and it was cancelled. We thought that was the last chance we had to see him so we’re really happy when he was booked.

I'm actually wondering if this slot has run its course? I'd rather they went in a different direction rather than shoehorn an act or artist who gets the nod because they've been in the biz for a certain amount of time. Manilow is a legit shout, but they are scraping the barrel somewhat, beyond that and a small group of others

There's still a decent coterie of acts left and as time moves on the supply will get topped up as younger acts evolve into the right sort of booking.

It's something unique to the festival and by removing it you do make a Pyramid Sunday look more like the average day at Reading or IOW.

I've always thought GJ would be a good WH headliner, but I doubt she'd agree and they probably wouldn't pay enough for her to be interested.

And yeah, they've kind of painted themselves into a corner with the Sunday teatime/legend/Sunday teatime legend slot (or however they pitch it, depending on who it is). 

The minute they put the likes of Pink or Spice Girls in that slot, is the moment when it's evolved again. Sunday teatime headliner anyone?
