Fogerty is an anonymous journeyman, whereas Bazza is Mr Showbiz. The latter's a better fit for Sunday Teatime. That's like saying Barry Gibb is an anonymous journeyman. Fogerty is one of the greatest songwriters of all time and front man of what were the biggest band in the world at their peak.

He's not a celebrity or a front man of any great reknown and it's a slot that works best with a household name programmed in it.

I'd say it's highly unlikely but it would be amazing! Saw him at BST Hyde Park a few years back and even though he could hardly stand up he was still great.

Loved it, been waiting for years to see him at Glastonbury. He was meant to do a Glasgow gig but covid hit and it was cancelled. We thought that was the last chance we had to see him so we’re really happy when he was booked. cancelled.

Outside of Grace Jones, who apparently will never play for financial reasons, I've absolutely no idea. I can't think of anyone who could be considered as a "legend" who I'd like to play this slot. I'd rather they went in a different direction rather than shoehorn an act or artist who gets the nod because they've been in the biz for a certain amount of time. Manilow is a legit shout, but they are scraping the barrel somewhat, beyond that and a small group of others
CaledonianGonzo
There's still a decent coterie of acts left and as time moves on the supply will get topped up as younger acts evolve into the right sort of booking. It's something unique to the festival and by removing it you do make a Pyramid Sunday look more like the average day at Reading or IOW. Problem is that it's become a "Glastonbury Institution".
CaledonianGonzo
Yes - we should do away with the things that make Glastonbury different.

I've always thought GJ would be a good WH headliner, but I doubt she'd agree and they probably wouldn't pay enough for her to be interested. And yeah, they've kind of painted themselves into a corner with the Sunday teatime/legend/Sunday teatime legend slot (or however they pitch it, depending on who it is). The minute they put the likes of Pink or Spice Girls in that slot, is the moment when it's evolved again. Sunday teatime headliner anyone?
