I've been reliably informed by the efests massive that the ability to sing or even mime properly is totally irrelevant for a Pyramid performer, esp one doing the "legends" slot.

That's a bit disingenuous.  I think you're referring to people excusing Diana Ross for having shaky vocals because she's a genuine legend and pushing 80.

I've heard it mentioned in relation to more artists, e.g. EJ prior to appearing, but post "Dill Danding", as in "it doesn't matter if he can no longer sing".

Some people are happy just to be in the presence of a "legend". I want a good performance.

What are the options we are down to?

Cher: doing some stuff but nothing concrete in the way of dates.

Stevie: has some tour dates booked in with Billy Joel throughout 2024, don't think anything outside the US is yet announced.

Shania: Doing a Vegas residency in 2024. Break from end of May until August, said she'd like to play the Legends Slot.

Any more? Most others seem very unlikely (Bush, Lennox) or more likely to play a different Slot if they did do it (Chaka, Grace Jones).

Any more?

Yeah, those are just about the only 3 that are both "easy wins" and show some form of activity.

It's almost certainly just wishful thinking on my part but I can't bring myself to fully rule out Annie Lennox as a possibility. I know she's winding down and hasn't been "properly" active since the pandemic, but I can't help wondering if a one-off show would be viable (much as Barry Gibb wasn't active when he did it a few years ago).

Yep would like to enjoy it and not just feel sorry for them

Yeah - and the people who skipped Elton on the basis of one bad video clip shot themselves in the foot.

I don't know how else to say this but Elton and Diana don't need no pity.

Oh indeed not. Elton was superb, think people just refer to the lockdown performance

Diana on the other hand. I had a good time though, not much point not doing that. Her murdering chain reaction was funny as well. Didn't see the full set as had to do a spot of work so maybe she got better, maybe.

Would you believe I have a YouTube clip of Stevie Nicks live with some bad vocals to interest you in....?

Hit us with it...

If she's not wearing knickers and suspenders in her 70's then she's already winning.

What if there are YouTube clips of every single artist on the planet giving sub-par vocals? What then?

If they are giving us a good show then I don't really mind!
