Private Life came on the radio earlier, and that got me thinking about Grace Jones and what kind of slot she'd want/demand/warrant -  headlining West Holts with an unannounced Truth stage 2am bondage special too please, she'd be ace

Didn’t Robbie Williams pretty much issue a ‘come and get me?’ As much as I can’t stand him and would rather be anywhere else Glastonbury would be nuts not to get him signed up. Be huge.

He’s probably right TBF, he absolutely would slaughter it. I wouldn’t be watching but a Robbie Williams greatest hits set would be massive.

Its pretty ridiculous that somebody who  is in the elton category of having a  deep enough catalog for legends and also big enough to headline has to beg the festival to book them and they dont do it.

 

In regard to Grace Jones, her show would be really weird in the broad daylight. So legends is kind of out of the question. But as noted she wants her bucks and you cant blame her.

 

also funny that theres artists now telling the festival outright they would do it cause now they see it as being the 4th headliner. But watch its another double bill next year cause something fell through or whatever.

It's definitely a case of when and not if for Robbie. However for next year I'm leaning more towards Stevie, Cher or a little trip to the Copacabana.

In terms of the light entertainment, Vegas megawatt celeb singalong factor he's a platinum class booking for the slot.

Yes.  A much lower key slot. Not necessarily a bad thing, but not as eye catching or fun as previous years.

JF/CCR has a lot more well known tunes than Yusuf/CS. Bet most people don't know he wrote 'Rocking all over the World'... Francis Rossi special guest, I can see it now 🙂

Mariah Carey has never played a festival, and not live at all for about four years - it'd be a hell of an ask, but with an increasing amount of these headline/legend one-offs in the last decade - Rolling Stones, Elton John, Adele, and to a lesser extent Dolly and Lionel etc etc - its not impossible. There's a pretty convincing argument to be had that it'll cement her as an all-time legend and thats pretty damn appealing even if the £££ on offer isnt quite a Vegas residency level of money

If they go back to slightly cheesy Shania Twain would definitely fit the bill. If they stick with slightly more understated James Taylor would be a good shout. 

If they go for genuine bonafide legend get them while you can Stevie Nicks has the star power and the tunes.
