New year, new me.

Still happy to go for a lie with the sande thing

Basement jaxx headlined and you think underworld are outside the possibilities. What has been booked over the years says everything is possible.

They headlined in 2023, regardless of what anyone thinks of them they are headlining stadiums again still in 2025. Probably a good job your priories now lie elsewhere.

So Foo Fighters and Adele in the round didnt hit 100? The other thing is that the pitch at the Coliseum wasnt even fully sold. If you check one of the overheads theres an entire area thats empty and its likely due to fire code. I found that kind of odd that they set it up that way. Possibly due to crowd movements cause Fred was switching spots throughout the show. And dont forget this show was announced with a week before showtime and  still sold 75,000 tickets. think he could sell as fast at Wembley or it would have to be traditional sales?

The other thing is I dont think they could have the same ticket format for the seating areas. you bought tickets by specific section and it was just general admission in the section. But nobody was checking tickets when you went to the section. So you had a bunch of people who bought $40 nosebleed tickets just sneak down to the areas of people who paid $150. Would there be enforcement or just trust that people are being honest with their tickets.

I think Fred has cooled off a bit now in the UK, no idea if he could do 100k at Wembley straight away. Perhaps as an exclusive and fairly cheap. He would sell it well for sure but not sure it would sell out

Wembley checks tickets by floor so wouldn't be an issue. That sounds weird from the venue not to be checking honestly - never heard of that before.

Also Underworld and Faithless ffs.

coliseum checks floor cause youre wristbanded. Its just everywhere else. Making it all ga in seats at a stadium with an electronic act is the easiest way to go in some cases. Us oldies always know its gonna be a thing when they do it so never a surprise. I mean I did that at Rufus Du Sol a couple years ago. Bought cheap tickets and the main stadium concourse is the lower seats and nobody checked sh*t. Got there early and picked a spot. Their loss. It was nothing compared to people jumping down to the pitch later that night.

Edc Los Angeles was the real tragedy of having all ga at a festival with a stadium as a stage. Theres youtube footage. I was there and saw it happen

Yeah this doesn't happen in the UK. Always assigned seating

thats where you could def put into question if Fred could sell 100k at Wembley then. I mean the Coliseum and the Rose Bowl are just old format stadiums. Most modern ones have multiple levels and entrances and you can stop that sort of thing from happening. But anyway, he released the Afterlife footage from the Coliseum now. I wonder if the full show is going to go up soon. Everyone invited to this performance had tickets to his first La show at The Roxy back in 2021.

Are we saying that if one is on the ball, at the Rose Bowl, one could make his way into standing after having a nightmare in the Oasis sale and ending up with rather sh*t seats?

Asking for someone else of course.

No. Not for floor. Not possible. Youre wristbanded before you even enter the stadium itself. They likely re scan your floor ticket before you even go down to the floor itself as a safety measure. Theyre stupid. but not that stupid. Just for the seats that its all accesible due to the degisn. New stadiums arent this simple. Thats how it is when a venue is over 100 years old.

Well that's depressing. Still, I have a good track record with these things - see what happens in the summer

Are you suggesting he couldn't sell it as well because people aren't able to take the mick with their seats lol

I don't think this plays into it much at all!

i know how they run things there and unless it was a mess like U2 in 2009 theres no way you get through. Only a couple of floor specific entrances thats the thing. You arent gonna get people camped out in line for days to get barrier there and then a whole mess with security.

Edm crowds are a different animal in large settings. Thats why over here they try to not make these big gigs assigned seating if they can help it. Like Justice was at The Hollywood Bowl and sold it out, but theyre ''cool'' so its not this big drama and such over assigned seats since it cant be any other way there. I think if you did a 360 Fred show at Wembley with assigned seats you def have to make the price points favorable and also provide a few support acts. The Coliseum show here had no opener and sold what it did. Really just perfect timing to draw like he did, and being next to a university didnt hurt. But in the Uk I am sure people wont be too excited dropping 150 quid for a ticket and its literally just him for 2 hours.

The lower tier behind the goal is sometimes "Unreserved Seating" at Wembley, but it's for use by people with pitch tickets, so not really a safety concern. If you buy pitch you buy pitch for a reason, it's only if getting too tired, or wanting to eat, that you'll take a seat for a few minutes.

Same at London Stadium for the Stones. I had pitch tickets but then ruptured a tendon a week or so before and had to sit in them.

That's a good point, they're also very useful for people who want to stand, but can't manage a whole set / concert due to disability or injury.

I haven't done a gig there yet, is it any good for music? Haven't done Spurs either, that looks good.

I've had a couple of instances where I've had a ticket but got myself into a much better position of viewing. The Killers and Liam Gallagher. I tried it at Emirates for Green Day but not happening.

I too don't have greatly favourable seats for Oasis and am a bit like do I still want to go even with the support being good. I went through with it because of how long it took. I honestly think if it was 30 minutes waiting I'd have said no as it wasn't a big use of time. I'm also going because a mates wants to go as he turned down a tickets back in 09. Had he have gone then with us and said he wasn't interested I'd have likely not bothered. It was a strictly one off paying more but ultimately it bloody cost £45 back then.

I only enjoyed it cos of the Stones. It was so quiet and the sound wasnt great but I dont know if its a good example of the genre as I dont really do stadium shows.

I love it for athletics <unhelpful>
