  • Pearl Jam
  • Depeche Mode
  • Tom Waits
  • Tears For Fears
  • Chris Rea
  • Mark Knopfler / Dire Straits
  • Steven Wilson / Porcupine Tree
  • Iron Maiden
  • Opeth
  • Pat Metheny
  • Sade
  • Matteo Mancuso
  • Goose
  • Jean-Michel Jarre
  • Kraftwerk

For starters...

Saw Depeche Mode a couple of weeks ago (with Young Fathers supporting, who were excellent)…still sound great, would be a hell of a headliner. Would love to see Knopfler (with or without Dire Straits) in the legends slot sometime. Mates went to Iron Maiden the night I was at Blur and said they were great, I haven’t seen them since the ‘80s!. In an ideal world, Sufjan would be near the top of my list, but he’s not mad on festivals. He’s probably right, his shows are probably too intimate for large crowds outdoors…would love to see Decemberists there sometime (have they done it before?)…and sure while we’re dreaming, Kate Bush obviously!

This is quite a difficult question as (perhaps unsurprisingly) most acts have played the festival at one time or another. Many others seem very unlikely at this point....

In no particular order.

  • Fleetwood Mac
  • Marc Almond
  • Marc Rebillet
  • Ice-T
  • AC/DC
  • Human League
  • Rihanna
  • Anthrax (in JP/Woodsies please)
  • Missy Elliott
  • Depeche Mode

Genuinely thought Ice-T was dead and had to Google it to check.

She should've really headlined West Holts by now

Yep. Erykah Badu is the quintessential West Holts headliner. Would be an all timer.

it was a DJ set iirc

Believe it was a live set. I was there and sure it was live and not a dj set. Was mashed but remember bits a pieces of it and having great fun. Had to stop Da Funk as someone climbed the tent poles. Once brought down the bass started again and the place went wild

I was there but didn't catch it all and couldn't really see much (just inside the the tent), I'm sure it ended on Around The World as I had it stuck in my head for days.

Ha, I remember Around The World, no idea if it was the last one. Had worked my way to one of the speakers. Danced and giggled as my wife hates that tune and refused to come and see them because of that
