Appreciate there is already a very large thread on this subject... But it seems to have turned into more of a discussion as to the merits of certain artists as opposed to who people think are most likely... So, with that in mind, who do people think we will see headline next summer?

Please only pick three and if you pick 'other' please comment below so we can start to get a feel for who the favourites are at this stage...

I'm in Dua Lipa, Rihanna, The 1975/DM camp.

Even doing an album in full though, I think The 1975 could blow that with their Reading spot. It's very much a lot of the crowd that tries for Glastonbury now due to the likes of Lewis Capaldi and others options similar so 160k have already had the chance to see them again late summer.

But yes, be a little surprised if it's not 3 out of these 4.

Interesting.. From a very selfish POV, I would be disappointed if that proved to be correct. Not a lot there for the stereotypical mid 30's bloke such as myself... As I say, very selfish POV, but then again I do represent a decent chunk of the Glasto demographic.

I agree Dua Lipa seems nailed on and given we already know there will be a female heavy feel to the headliners next year, either Madonna or Rihanna also seem likely.. I can't help but feel that if 2 or those 3 are confirmed they will have to go with a stereotypical guitar band for the 3rd headliner... I am not sure Depeche Mode quite fit that bill and also don't think 1975 have enough clout to headline the pyramid personally.. I think foo's or Blur make more sense for the 3rd headliner.

As I said, was a very general comment, but AM, Foo;s, Blur etc. Of course plenty of exceptions to the rule and most have a wide spectrum in terms of taste, but I imagine you know full well what I mean.

Genuinely no idea, I don't know any stereotypical mid 30's blokes, even when I was in that age group I didn't know any stereotypical lads.

I'm mid 30s and would be fine with Dua Lipa. I think you're basing the stereotypical mid 30s interest on what was once a majority guitar based outlook.

After changing a female headliners to a rock band, they were always going to go heavy  on the female side this year. They even got Lizzo as a 'second headliner' this year which was daft just to try and say....we tried.

I also think Spice Girls are a very strong contender for the Legends spot.

Foo Fighters as a headliner would be a well overused option. I don't think they will be there but it's a booking I would majorly criticise. Next year is only the 4th year is has run since Foos headlined and coming in as the churnups is a virtually pointless thing if they headlined next year....I'd put the odds low and as Dave just enjoying the festival.

That's just being a rock fan. There is loads of people your age who don't care about Arctic Monkeys at all now.

I'm mid 30s and Tom Grennan was one of my favourites this year.

As I have said, was a very sweeping generalisation and of course there are plenty of exceptions. I am not sure how else to word the sort of general glastonbury goer I am talking about. Let's call it a rock fan instead if that is more palatable.

Completely agree re Foo's being an overspun / easy option, but I could still see it. Hope not mind you.

I could see Spice Girls too for sure, but not sure they are quite at the point of being Sunday afternoon material just yet..? I would imagine a headline slot would make more sense?

For what it is worth, my money is on Annie Lennox for the Sunday afternoon spot and I would be very happy if that comes to fruition.

The only reason I'd go to Foos is that their new album is decent generally but I'd just be bored of hearing them again so soon. I haven't got tickets for their tour either.

Spice Girls I can't see ever getting the headline gig. They are fun cheese for just over an hour. I'm certainly not adverse to a bit of cheese. I think there is also a bit of an element in Mel C and Mel B wanting it, Mel B more so and the others not bothered really bar the money. Mel C is getting decent slots at festivals at the minute and she's a decent act in fairness.

I'd definitely take Annie Lennox as the Legends act.

Mad that Depeche Mode aren't on the poll given that they're the only one we have clear information about (apparently they are pencilled in but not confirmed)

Would Depeche Mode be popular enough with the average Glastonbury goer to headline? I can't see it myself.

I dunno (and I probably wouldn't go see them), but there's been plenty headliners over the years that you can ask that question about and make a case that DM would rank ahead of.

Not every Pyramid headliner needs an Elton sized crowd. Hell, not every Pyramid headliner needs a Arctics* sized crowd.

*before the exodus I mean

I wouldn't be there either but definitely agree on the crowd thing. Crowds that size are mostly just a pain in the arse. I'd rather just have more 'normal' size headliners.

Glastonbury is the best dance festival in the UK, and as many mid 30s guys will be in Silver Hayes, or at Glade, or in the SEC as will be at your average 'rock' gig.

Silver Hayes and Glade especially often skew 30s rather than younger. San Remo also a very '30s' crowd.
