I saw Jealous Nostril supporting Ash & The Subways last year. Not sure if I liked them or not, so might give them another try. Will be watching Razorlight.

I think you’ll probably miss Razorlight, not only do you have to negotiate the M27, I am assuming, but getting into Portsmouth on a Friday! 
And recently the traffic in Pompey has been carnage as we had road closures with the eastern road (a main road into Pompey) causing major delays. Hopefully it will all be finished by Victorious but one of the three routes into Pompey gets shut, it’s chaos.

I’d just looked at google maps and saw 36 min from the airport to greetham street.  So thought taxi for way down.  Reckon that’s unrealistic on festival day?

 

Usually fly into Gatwick and then train to southsea, but figured these flights were better to avoid abandoning the kids for an extra day 😜

 

 

train from Southampton looks between 1hr 10 and 1hr 30.  Meaning nearer 2:30 before we’d get to festival

Yeah, there are no direct trains between the airport and Portsmouth. If the timings work out you could get a taxi from the airport to Eastleigh (only about 5 mins drive but puts you on a direct line to Pompey) and get the train from there, but they only run once an hour. If the flight/train times don't line up you're probably better off taxiing the whole way and hoping the traffic's not too bad.

Usually about 30/40% of the acoustic stage line up is on the main poster (Well its been that way the last couple of years and then they fill the rest of the line up with the up and coming and unsigned acts.

 

Looks like Acoustic is changing it name to "Under the trees" as an act who was announced yesterday, has said they are playing twice over the weekend and hes on the old acoustic stage

Yeah I would say that's it. The Fatboy Slim Glade set for Glastonbury has probably saved grabbing a ticket for that Friday. I does mean missing Eric Prydz on Arcadia but I saw him at Big Weekend.

Happy enough anyway, got Jamie T, Courteeners and The Lathums Saturday and then Biffy, Becky Hill (kids love her), Natasha Beddingfield, The Kooks and The Pigeon Detectives on Sunday. 
 

more than enough to make our trip worthwhile

Day and stages spits now up on website. Must be close to releasing times now. Castle stage looks bit sparse on Saturday and Sunday, did say in one of the emails surprise acts across the weekend.

Looks like there might be room for one more on the Castle on the Saturday unless they are giving Pixies a longer set.

Was it 8 on the Common and 9 on the Castle last year can anyone recall?

Those splits work quite well for me. Not too much moving from A to B thankfully.

Yes. Glastonbury is an entirely different beast and not sure you can really pay attention to it.

I would have thought that Common would have been a better choice. When they have well known pop acts on the Castle it can get pretty rammed and unpleasent around the ways in to the field. Sophie Eliis Bextor springs to mind.

 

Maybe as they played the Common a few years ago, they thought the Castle would be a good change. For my penny's worth it does not seem like the right decision.

 

They could probably do something to improve flow and make is safer by sorting the ways in and making them one way.

I watched them and it was fairly busy especially for that early in the day. I can't remember if they were on at 1.45, 2.00 or 2.30 but it was early.

 

This year as they are on in the evening, I would imagine they will get a bigger crowd as most people will be at the festival by then and so a bigger pool of potential fans. There is certainly a big love for the original lineup.

it was fairly early and before the tour. As I remember being surprised the were announced. Then all the comeback tour got announced etc.
