I realise we can't know for sure, for obvious reasons, but do you think it's likely measured in one minute sections, or over a longer or shorter period? So, could you do up to 59 in half a minute then leave it? I've asked for a reason, I could concentrate on one device, then flip to another every so often.

Yeah...I think you can do that.  When I've been testing I only ever get the 'busy' page after the 60th F5....even if I've done 60 in 30 seconds or so.  It seems that the 'busy' page then sticks with you until your rate falls back below 60/min, so in theory yes, doing what you suggest should be possible.

Hi all, just a question regarding auto refresh - I’ve got Easy Auto Refresh for chrome downloaded but it doesn’t seem to give me an option for stopping it when it gets to the reg details page (e.g inputting a certain word which would automatically stop it from refreshing). Is this an issue? If I do manage to get through to the reg page and it’s still refreshing, will I lose the page and will it send me back to the beginning?

As above.... you'll not lose the page if it refreshes but you would likely lose any reg details you might have entered.....not that it would be much I guess.

Thanks both. Funnily enough I used the very same auto-refresh extension last year and got tickets, but I couldn’t remember if there was an option last time to stop it auto-refreshing and if they’d since taken it off or something. Just wanted to double check. 🙂

I think at least one of the auto-refreshers will stop refreshing if it simply detects that the url of the page has changed from the one it was started on, so this wouldn't need you to find a specific word to detect

Is there a way of auto refreshing on a mobile browser without a specialist app? Can you set up Chrome on your phone to auto refresh? I'll be using laptop but would be nice to have a phone back up without having to faff about with it.

I've not found a way of doing it on native Android.....this app for Android seems to work although there are some annoying ads to wade through.

Emily almost inferred on the podcast that you are have a better chance for tickets if you use 1 device per household - what do we think of this? Is she just trying to reduce the number of devices rather than it genuinely being good advice?

Theyve always said that . I do pretty much stick to 1 though and have decent success . But others with multiple will likely say similar

Have always gone multiple with a little bit of success (had more tickets got for me than the other way round!)

Is pretty annecdotal will just depend on how much you can focus on multiple . However having one on a different ip autorefreshing wouldn’t do any harm

PC connected to hub, iPad on phone 4g and phone close by to verify bank payment. No auto refreshing,  A bit paranoid about the 59 hits per minute, feel more in control doing the manual refresh.

One device per IP address 😉

We always have one of us on the WiFi only, other on the 4g on the laptop and the spare phone on 4g also

No success but I suspect that's the 60 per minute thing

How do people know if they've tripped that 60 per minute limit? Is there something in devtools that tells you?

I just don't see the limit thing.

I have 7 browsers refreshing at 2 seconds across 3 devices, all just on the house wifi, and have got tickets in the last two sales.

if you get to the details page and it crashes and asks you to "resend the data" do you resend or go back and re-enter? i always forgot which one it is

Depends on the crash type.

Generally I'd suggest re-send as the first attempt, but tbh you're likely screwed either way.

yep every 3 / 4 seconds manually once I know that the page isn't loading

3 or 4 seconds?! I’m refreshing to the extent I’m concerned I’m breaching the >1 per second ceiling. I’m generally refreshing the very instant I can see I’m still on the hold screen, and every dozen or so refreshes I’ll pause for 2-3 seconds so I don’t trigger the lock out.

I have one regular browser and one private/incognito browser and manually refresh them both, flicking between both quickly. My laptop is connected to my mobile hotspot and runs an auto-refresh which will stop when a keyword is spotted on the page.

It’s an anxiety ridden time.

The 60 per minute refresh rate explained here on reddit- the person seems to know what they are talking about

That mentions this 60+ per minute thing as potentially pushing you to a separate page. To know this from their experiments, they must have some sort of identifier, most likely within Chrome Devtools, that tells them when this has happened. Which should mean we can monitor it as we go along, but I haven't seen anyone explain how they've found this out?
