DDave
Wonder if Beck can be tempted over, plenty of festivals needing a name now. Perfect gap in his tour schedule.

gigi21
I'm sure that festivals will get news about QOTSA in a few days. If they cancel too, a lot of August festival will need to book two strong acts and some good deals could show up. If QOTSA confirm the tour, find a proper replacement for The Smile would be harder. Let's see.

Semprini
Two big acts cancelling at pretty much the same time might actually help the clutch of festivals that are affected to work together to find replacements, but it's a big ask 4 weeks away. My personal preference would be The Prodigy, but probably too big for Marquee headline slot and I don't even know if they're touring at the time? It's sh*t but you can't place the blame at anyone's feet so let's hope an amicable resolution is found!!

All on tour, none playing other Belgian festivals (that haven't yet happened), all available on the Sunday. Some are probably way too big given the festival's history of replacing cancellations. Some on the Smile list could also replace QOTSA as well of course. This is after all the festival that gave a headline slot to Alt-J once upon a time. gigi21
Regarding Josh Homme, one of the most important Italian journals wrote about inguinal hernia, so that's more than a rumour. So I googled "inguinal hernia surgery recovery" and I found it's quicker then I expected. It's highly recommended to walk a lot soon after, you can drive a car in 48-72 hours and you usually go back to work after 10-15 days. You only have to avoid lifting heavy weights for 4-6 weeks, but he should be able to perform, maybe dancing a little less than usual...

It's a hernia protruding from his groin (balls) There's a couple location types of hernia, haven't read about the recovery for this specific type. I wouldn't like to be walking about with a sore groin.

gigi21
For the ones who were interested, Mannequin Pussy canceled the rest of their tour a couple of days ago. So there's another slot to fill in the Backyard on Friday.
gigi21
The Croatian organizers of QOTSA's canceled concerts in Zagreb wrote on their Instagram that an official announcement by the band is expected for today. Originally (2 weeks ago) they said they were working at rescheduling the Croatian shows to late summer and the new dates would have been announced in two weeks. Today we'll know.

Ah man, that's sh*t - you can't even take comfort in the fact they'll have decent replacements in place given their recent history. If they book Oscar and the Wolf I'll be selling my ticket and I'm never going to Pukkelpop again.
