Empire of the sun are awesome!! I'd rather they headlined over the 3 we look like getting 🤣
Rose-Colored Boy
Can fully commit to this thread now the golden ticket is secured. O-Rod subbed by Chappell on Saturday, and then Stevie Wonder or Nicks subbed by Scissor Sisters on Sunday, please and thank you. Yeah man they need to get Royal Blood, Wizkid, Two Door Cinema Club, D-Block Europe and Major Lazer in those slots.

Surely up there with their best. I don't think it shows them being in no question of doing it, I think their tour sakes previously show that. It makes reasonably frequent appearances even if it’s not a lock at every show these days. I’ve long had a theory that they were waiting to headline Glastonbury to play Antichrist live. Based on absolutely nothing but I’d die if it happened.

They have been playing it for 12 years so they might feel like giving it a rest for a bit. I want to hear it all the time, personally. Proper banger. Andre91
The 1975, Olivia Rodrigo and Fred again.. would be a banging set of headliners and I’d have a lonely time in my living room watching all three of them each night. 1

Christ that's an underwhelming trio for me, but would fully understand the rationale if it was them. Would likely see Olivia (even as a middle aged white man who's niece's would be insanely jealous if I did) as she's got some cracking stuff from the little I've heard. Amazing voice and sounds sincere and emotive, lyrically. But the other two do f**k all for me. As we know, all that means is I'd be free to explore the wealth of other acts on show - the best thing about the whole festival, and the very first bit of advice my Glasto-veteran friend gave to me in 2011 when I first went; "don't worry about the headliners or chasing the main acts if you're not actually interested, use that time to explore...". The latest info was that Fred pulled out with The 1975 taking over so is this potentials wrong? 1 hour ago, Andre91 said: They did play it on the first leg of that tour but not on the second. It's the song that makes me think this is The 1975. It's kinda that song I remember from a band I'm not bothered about but I wouldn't turn it off. 1 hour ago, Andre91 said: The 1975, Olivia Rodrigo and Fred again.. would be a banging set of headliners and I’d have a lonely time in my living room watching all three of them each night. I think it's likely that if Fred was in The 1975 info is not as real as thought. Unless things have really gone sound there is no reason for The 1975 to have been pulled in if Fred was still in. The really bad outlook would be that Olivia has said no and Fred has been asked to reconsider for her absence. The 1975, Sam and Fred would be the worse set I've seen the festival book. 1 hour ago, Stokesy10 said: Christ that's an underwhelming trio for me, but would fully understand the rationale if it was them. Yeah I can't disagree that The 1975, Olivia and Fred is poor. But Sam instead of Fred is worse.

Rose-Colored Boy
new Fender track is the most ‘I’m about to headline Glastonbury’ song since Ed Sheeran released Castle on the Hill. It’s an absolute lock.
Euphoricape
Definitely prefer Fender to 1975 or Fred.

danbailey80
This on the Pyramid. Released today. If Sam really was "not in their plans this year" then they've missed someone about to hit their absolute peak next year. Massive fail. charlierc
I think it'll be 1975 or Fred/O-Rod/Fender. Which will be curious to see how that's received as can guess a lot of people who think it should only be headlined by bands with chart hits in the 90s won't be impressed. Nothing about that says they are missing an option, it tells me more Werchter should be embarrassed to book it. It's just a low key version of what you get by going to see Bruce. I know it's each to their own but that's average as it gets.

It’s a notch down from the big songs on album two, but it’s good enough to sustain his momentum which is all he needs.

I think it's more immediate. The big songs on album 2 were actually growers that became massive over time. Be interesting to hear what else the album has to offer.
