Sounds like he's taken Boys of Summer and removed any of the remotely interesting flourishes. His output is just all so magnolia and indistinguishable I just don't get it at all. I’m in the same boat. I’ve tried so hard to get into his stuff. A few stand out tracks and the rest all sounds the same. Each to their own but not for me
Suprefan
1 hour ago, gfa said: howcome so early? likely economics. A lot of festivals have announced earlier than usual and I think they want to get this out sooner rather than later because people can make a financial decision while they still have money. The holidays havent happened yet so theres money to be spent. And you would give people an extra couple of months on a payment plan which doesnt hurt either. But its also encouraging that the lineup is ready to go. Its just of a matter of whats been booked thats even justifying this. Either its god tier or they dropped the ball again. What do you think would constitute "God tier" these days? Is there a festival on the planet currently offering such a thing?

JonSnow
Just all feels extremely safe 6/10 light rock music to me personally. If they have a direct choice between him and Fred Again I think it should be a no brainer to go for the latter (and I don't particularly like Fred Again) Edited 4 hours ago by JonSnow

If I was Sam and I'm offered it I'd be snapping that up now.

(I know that's not the sentiment but it's just so badly put together. But because it's got a momentus soundtrack no-one will care.)

And I don’t like Springsteen.

Is there a festival on the planet currently offering such a thing? for coach its gonna have to be 2023 level of bookings to be seen as that. Former headliners sprinkled in there. Rare bookings and then surprises of course. I dont know if anyone has that right now but its all subjective. I am sure if the lineup is great that a lot of people on here will be scratching their heads as to why, when the top lines will have artists they have no clue about. And that shows the difference in who is listening to what. Coachella doesnt give you 80% of the same ol stuff that everyone knows cause thats boring and lazy. Glasto people want that 80% of known stuff so then they dont have to listen to a lot of new stuff in the lead up. anyway. Coachella has one glasto headliner at least. And they wont be billed that high either
mungo57
Ive already expressed distaste at the current rumours etc in previous threads (specifically for the Pyramid headliners) but I've just been told by my new manager at work they've booked off Glasto week already for their own holiday and I can't have the whole week off. I was told to 'try for a ticket and we'll see what we can do' - which I will do. Either way I won't be able to be there until probably the Thursday evening assuming I get a ticket as I'll be expected to work. Not sure I'll bother now. Will decide tomorrow before I go to bed. Bit deflated now.... It's a cost Vs benefit exercise for me now with the increasing ticket price and perceived value for money so we shall see. Not totally about headliners so apologies Edited 2 hours ago by mungo57
mufcok
I can see Stevie making up the trio. Fender alongside those two just feels a bit... off, to me. May be wrong. I will be intruiged if they don't go for Fred. I remember hearing some time back that he was lined up for big UK shows in 2025 - Wembley big. Not sure if that's still in the offing, and if it would play into him not doing Glastonbury/festivals. Time will tell I guess

I know they've expanded from where they were but Coldplay have 10 dates there, Oasis have 7, Dua Lipa has 2, Linkin Park could well be popular enough to justify a second date so I feel like it's running out of room. Although tbf London has a ton of other stadiums to play with.

I do find it weird though how he's selling stadiums out for fun across the world, then plays a smattering of small London gigs. I suspect it's coming, just a case of when.
