Linkin Park headlining without Chester, presumably.

Unlikely I’d be there, unless they brought Jay Z along, but at least it’d be loads less boring than The 1975, Fender or O Rod

LP headlining in general. Chester may not be there but it was just a case of I doubt the info is true at all. I don't think you can probably headline Wembley and say oh they can't do it without Chester, it's just very unlikely to be happening.

Am I the only one who will be at another stage for O Rod and also the 1975 if that's who it turns out to be?

After Coldplays performance last year being such a spectacle it will take a hell of a show from anyone

You’re not alone

Olivia won’t be bringing out a person with Parkinson’s to perform ‘Fix You’ so she’s already an improvement on Coldplay in one respect

Think there will be plenty going elsewhere, but think there will be plenty there too. I'd argue there won't be a SZA-style crowd for any of the three mooted acts. The 1975 likely draw the smallest, but by no means are they going to be disgraced on numbers by the other two.

Nope, I’ll be at another stage too. They’ll both pull in a decent crowd but not for me!

Haha I struggle to slag Coldplay because J Buckland is from the next village over and his aunty was my English teacher in school. F Chris Martin though

It’d just be a return to the pre-2009* days of a headliner trio who can each pull in respectable but safe crowds. Probably good news for the long term health of the festival if it means resetting headliner expectations back to a realistic level.

*I know 2014 and 2015 were pretty low key too but that was by accident rather than design.

Can someone post The 1975 info from discord please? I just want it to be true, the odds look pretty good

Same as here basically from mcfcok. At this moment there probably is only one act in the headline running who I really want to see and so will make arrangements for that to happen

Has anybody ever headlined Wembley Stadium and topped the G in the same weekend?

A long time back a bit I think, Coldplay ages ago and someone else I think.

To be fair, how many years have we had a full slate of stadium headliners, or even two of them?

Now, I know that it is down to caveats and personal choices - Paul McCartney likely could do stadiums, but chooses not to, Adele had a fear of large-scale live performances, Dua Lipa is playing them next year on the back of this, etc, etc.

But I'd be curious to know how many trios were pure stadium fare - and even then, imagine Fender will possibly do some alongside this next year to boot.

Yeah but most years they’ve had at least one enormous act. 2014 and 2015 the only recent years that didn’t, and those were only because they got turned down by Prince/the Foos dropped out. You could argue 2019 too although The Killers certainly blow this year’s prospective trio away in terms of popularity.

2009 they hit it with all 3, Neil Young, Springsteen and Blur
