Don't care so much about that. As long as it doesn't scream "bullshitter".

It's not unusual for someone to get a random piece of info once but not before or after.

I think this place is seriously lacking in the know people if we are even entertaining that post, especially when it contradicts actual in the know people's info

I've not seen that info, so don't know where it came from.

But just in terms of her other dates, specifically the 2 Manchester shows on the Monday and Tuesday, playing Sunday doesn't make much sense and goes against her usual touring patterns so I'd treat anyone suggesting it with a certain amount of scepticism.

Yeah saturday makes most sense but that is the latest info in the discord

I'd say it potentially lacks generational diversity compared to headline groups of old though, that would be fair.

I think they’ll surprise us with one of the headliners. We’re assuming it’s 3 of the usual suspects for 2025, but I can easily see someone we weren’t particularly expecting being on that top line

Yeah sadly you are probably right

She’d make for a very strong sub but, as with all the other acts who’ve never come back in a lower slot after headlining at their peak, it’d be tough to ask her to accept that without it seeming like an insult.

Yeah, it must be said that if it was - for example - The 1975, Dave and Sam Fender:

+ You've got a trio of rising British stars and, Harry Styles aside, arguably the three next biggest ones to do it.

- You've got no out-and-out megastar or legacy headliner, no big-name overseas pick and no women.

I find it hard to believe there won't be a repeat headliner in the trio...
Therefore I think we must consider one of these -  Foo Fighters, Kasabian, maybe even Florence and the machine etc. The Killers, - but actually Stevie Wonder is most-likely the one?

Also - another thought occurring to me - is Madonna out of the question? - I get the feeling that Madonna is an act that actually would benefit from Glastonbury headline slot - she has lost a lot of her 'street cred' over the past decade or so and her personality seems to be someone who wants to remain on top. - she did a free show in Brazil, so she's not against doing shows for low money. perhaps the great pull-out of 2024, was a postponement to 2025?

That being said I think we are looking at

?Fred again? / 1975? - Olivia Rodrigo - Stevie Wonder

Funnily enough, I heard foo’s were in the frame for this and/or RnL but after everything with DG, they decided not to do it. Everything can change but I do wonder who they booked as a replacement

Interesting!

I remember listening to something a few years ago where Emily said they had agreed/booked the headliners for the next 3 festivals - I wonder if she has lived to regret this course of action 😄

What about Kings of Leon? - they posted a lot of Glastonbury stuff on social media last year and then didn't show up at the festival?

That was all very weird, I thought.

They're with Zach Bryan in New York next year at some point - well, New Jersey if we're splitting hairs - but can't recall when.

She does like to get them ironed out in advance. I fully expect that Rodrigo was pencilled in potentially before this year's festival - and potentially if The 1975 were booked in 2021 originally, they may well have been somewhere floating in the mix still, especially after two sold-out arena runs in 2023 and 2024.

Fender was the kind who you'd have looked at his sub slot and started making the necessary arrangements, providing he didn't bomb the next album. Which, based on People Watching's single trajectory, seems like he won't.
