Yes I have heard. Could be where Gaga has got been asked to jump in. A month back Fred was still apparently in the 3.

Actually everything in the sentence was grammatically correct. It would be impressively worse. So I'll take the well done haha. And I'll leave that there as I don't need to comment anymore on Mr Nick Cave. Nowt against him but not for me.

I won’t get into the semantics of the ugly language in the first bit, which is what you think I was commenting on, but you needed a full stop,  or at least a semi-colon before "well done". 😉

Regardless, saying Nick Cave would be worse than Post Malone just isn't true.

Regardless I don't care anymore. It was tongue in cheek that went as far as it needed to.

Announced on the Wednesday of the festival,  so not a lot of time for people to complain about it.

Stereophonics stepped in last minute for Primal Scream. They (the 'phonics) were meant to be exclusive elsewhere that summer (V, maybe?), so had to be announced late and did no pressure over the weekend at all.

I went to see Orbital and had a belting time.

I had a hooky T-Shirt I bought as I left on the Monday which still had Primal Scream showing as headliners. It probably also said "Galstonbury festival of preforming tars" or something.

If Fred Again fell through and The 1975 are the replacement then I’m assuming Sam Fender/Muse are either Sunday or not doing it/doing something else. If Gaga is announced for Coachella is there a chance we get her for the Sunday? As there doesn’t seem to be any solid rumours whereas The 1975/Fred Again/Olivia Rodrigo people seem/ed pretty convinced over.

How many times has Coachella actually shared a headliner with Glastonbury though?

Radiohead did both in 2017, Arcade Fire in 2014, Muse and Gorillaz in 2010 (by accident for the latter) and Coldplay in 2005.

There's not an overwhelming history that one doing Coachella means they'll be at the G, when all is said and done.

Also, a laugh at Oasis and their Coachella headlining set in 2002. Bit tripe if they'd offered it up nowadays.

1 Go Let It Out
2 Columbia
3 Acquiesce
4 Force of Nature
5 Supersonic
6 The Hindu Times
7 Cigarettes & Alcohol
8 Hung in a Bad Place
9 She's Electric
10 Better Man
11 Rock 'n' Roll Star
12 Don't Look Back in Anger
13 I Am the Walrus

They book so differently and are in different continents - its not all that surprising i guess

For a while they booked very differently - i reckon their overlap could start to increase in the next few years perhaps

I'm not sure that tells us much tbh.

Don't think it's something that the bookers (especially not on the Glastonbury side) are going to take into account, or at least not consider a major obstacle, and therefore trying to draw correlation doesn't work. Ultimately the two festivals are 5,000+ miles apart, and with mostly different audiences.

If I were to guess, I'd have to say

Charli XCX

Olivia Rodrigo

Muse

I think they'll get Muse in as the 'safe' bet. Their history with the festival probably buys them at least one more headline appearance, despite their waning popularity.

Would love to see Biffy headline at least Other. They absolutely tore up Pyramid when I saw them in 2017.

My current guess is:

The 1975, ?, Olivia

I dont believe anything strong enough currently for the 3rd one but i wouldn't bet against Muse.

Yeah not that often as it's not really relative. I'd only expect Olivia out of all. If Gaga had agree  Glastonbury it would be easy for everyone.

Ahh now, this isn't fair.

I know Taylor isn't playing. I know that there's exactly zero chance. I know all the entirely accurate and logical reasons.

But mentioning it like this just isn't fair, as now I'm still going to get disappointed when it doesn't happen.

Would Taylor showing up be completely ridiculous, I mean I do not think she will do a headline slot -  But could she show up during O-Rod set?

Yes, it's plausible that - having been booked for 2020, and now finally having a break after a marathon several years of recording and touring - she goes to the festival either to see what all the fuss is about or to watch / support a friend. Still probably a long shot though.

That's what I mean. There's not a real history of correlation.

Can't see them legging Charli XCX up to headline this time around unless all of Fred again, Sam Fender and The 1975 have turned it down. Know it is another female headliner in a pool where the festival are determined to do better, but she's a very strong sub or Other bill-topper to me as it stands.

But Biffy Clyro would be excellent counter-booking if she did headline.
