Three terrific live acts, with the tunes to back 'em up. in the same respect I’d take Gaga, O’Rod and any other over Sam fender and 1975 We will all have our fave acts, bands, music but it’s why glasto is so great - there are literally over 100 other stages to go to

They would be phenomenal on the Other stage though. The prodigy 100% need to be on in the dark - they won’t be headlining the pyramid so that leaves the other or west holts however west holts might be too small for a band like the prodigy. I was at the other stage last time they headlined on that stage and it was a great crowd. Edited Friday at 03:29 PM by jonnytee1

NorthernSoul52
I wonder how many other bands have that - a figure largely considered the image of the band who actually wasn't frontman or songwriter.

NorthernSoul52
Of course, Robbie Williams has bucket loads of #1 albums and we're mostly rolling him into the Legends bracket. (Still genuinely think Robbie is headliner material, though will accept that is not a popular opinion.)

All three are massive, and massive with the general public at that. Massive seems over the top for them imo. If you asked the British public who are the biggest musicians are, I don't think many would list any of Fender, 1975 or Rodrigo in their top 5. They're all big though, but none of them has a wow factor like John, McCartney etc. Of course, there aren't many of those and getting one every year is impossible. I don't think anyone will look back on the 2025 headliners and say 'wow what a year'. Solid but unspectacular.

ClementsMike
Ahead of being announced, I remember Ed Sheeran doing an interview where hes said he knew this was going to be his biggest year, that he wouldn't be able to maintain or top it. I feel that this will be the same for Sam Fender next year, A massive year for him that he may struggle to better, the way the hype is going. I think Glasto will have dropped a massive bollock if they don't have him as a headliner. The only bigger guitar act they could have had was Oasis and thats not happening, so ... NorthernSoul52
Fender is primed to be a very big deal, as they say, in 2025. It's a clanger if he's not booked and they haven't got two absolute slam dunks alongside Olivia Rodrigo up top, I'd argue. But I think the likelihood of that is slim to none. Booking Fender for is kinda like if I have a ticket or not lol. Currently they can book him lol. For me it's not a case of he has to or not, it's fairly clear that if it's not this year he could be held back until like 27 and I doubt his star will have waned. Having Fender and Radiohead on the same top line though would be insufferable.

Haha yeah lol. If I get one in the resale then he can move along haha. Going by this clashfinder finder though with Biffy opposite he can stay haha, as long as Basement Jaxx don't play WHs same night which is obviously going to happy lol. NorthernSoul52
There's no obligation to book Fender. But right now, it feels like he is going to be everywhere. He might be everywhere in 2027! He might be even bigger! Or he might be hibernating somewhere in darkest Berwick-upon-Tweed and no longer carrying the cultural heft he once had. Two years is a long time in music. Strike while the iron is hot - he's at the level now, and I think that unless they have some outright bona-fide superstars in the mix to take top spot, Glastonbury would be a bit off the beat to not think about him topping the Pyramid. I think all three have a chance to be true mega stars, well maybe not so much The 1975. Olivia and Sam could quiet easily go on to be real house hold names and have many hits. I often look back at old festival line ups that at the time just looked good but looking back when those names having got bigger now look amazing. I think a lot of people on efestivals are underestimating just how popular Oliva and Sam are.
