You’re very aware that it’s a considerably different experience for myself and my mates and it’s about so much more than the festival. I’m also fairly sure you read my reviews every year, which should give you some idea. If you haven’t then I suggest you do. And of course there’s always this Well stop it with the negative vibes about everything then. It's never gonna be the perfect event you want, make peace with that. Putting aside my own personal preferences that seems entirely fair enough. Not entirely fair if Charli and others are playing below Fender, which are both bigger and better.

Good point there. Not sure many not Brits would get his garlic bread joke. But hats off to Emily and the team for considering a comedian for a Pyramid Stage headliner. Who said it was going to be a comedy performance? 🙂

I genuinely would have no issue Peter Kay being given a headline slot.

But it's not necessarily a question of fairness, is it? There's only going to be three headline slots and Glastonbury are going to fill them with who they believe is best for them and available at that moment in time. If it is indeed Sam Fender, Olivia Rodrigo and The 1975 who they've asked - and by our collective reckoning, one of those wasn't the automatic pick - then the bookers still clearly have the faith in the model and their options. There's acts who've done it before who would bend over backwards to top the bill again at the drop of a hat, and if EE and company have decided those three are who they want, then that's that, I'd say. As we've said plenty of times on here, it's all subjective.

As far as I know there’s never been a comedian on the Pyramid, even in a lower slot. Don’t think this is happening.

MEGABOWL
2 hours ago, emmanuel said: Not entirely fair if Charli and others are playing below Fender, which are both bigger and better. ‘Better’ is subjective and meaningless, bigger is questionable. Be interesting to see how his stadium gigs go but if they sell that’s a high bar.
MEGABOWL
3 hours ago, RosaAG said: Yes, you're right. That's why I said it's totally subjective. Personally I wouldn't pay a ticket to see Coldplay or Adele, but they’re great headliners for Glasto. In any case, if the headliners don't please me, I'll just go to one of the other six concerts that will be happening at the same time. So it's no big deal. Same. Next year will be my twelfth and I’ve had vintage years where I didn’t watch a Pyramid headliner. Of the rumoured three the only one I’m definitely in for is Rodrigo. However that’s the discussion here, and it often blurs between subjective and objective.

Question - if it was Nick Cave + TBS headlining would you attend. Honestly? And do you think that they would be better received and attended than the three you're referring to? But I would be likely to watch them as a sub. Seen them before and they’re one of the best rock bands I ever seen. To the second question, probably not.
