Taylor Swift literally flew to Swansea to play 6 songs in the middle of a large U.S tour in 2018.

She'll play Glastonbury as a one-off if she wants to and she thinks she will get something out of it.

Taylor used that slot to advertise her stadium tour in the following summer that hadn't sold out and was struggling with sales.

More excited for Mike99 returning to efests than the very unlikely Swift patter.

And yes, that 2020 lineup brings a tear to your eye. May well be the best lineup Glastonbury has ever had, just packed to the rafters.

Yeah was amazing, though it was mostly what turned out to be the 2022 lineup, which was maybe the best lineup year I've seen

It's like when people use the  template to create the 'perfect' festival

So if Stevie does indeed pan out. Pyramid is gonna be sunday seniors night? Rod, Nile, insert subheadliner and Stevie? Lots of chairs are not moving now.

They’ll need some young uns to balance the day out.

Wet Leg > Nile > Rod > Charli XCX > Stevie

Something like that seems plausible.

Surely would be weirder if they did go considering they don't like the main act?

It was more that they hated her enough to not see the other stuff that day, something about thinking she's a terrible person for some reason and it was a principle thing. Plenty of other stuff they liked that day like wolf Alice

oh aye tbf my friends can be the same, totally dismissive of the undercard in favour of not liking a few others up top

The other thing that could give weight to the Taylor rumour is that all the rest of the top line who were booked for 2020 have since honoured their commitment to play the festival? Maybe there’s even a clause in the contract for big names that if the act has to cancel/the festival gets cancelled they have to come back within X amount of years.

When you consider that both U2 and Foos also came back after having to cancel their headline sets it tracks…

A small bit of credence I'd give to the Taylor rumours is remembering that she referenced "almost playing Glaston-berry" in her BRITs Global Icon speech a few years back...which at the time I thought was interesting and indicated she intended to return and play in the future. Obviously, three and a half years have passed since and people can change their mind, but to bring it up in the first place, to me, shows that she knows Glastonbury isn't just another show.

It's widely expected that at her final shows on the tour, she will announce an album of some kind, be it either the Taylor's Version of her debut or reputation, or potentially, her 'lost' album Karma. Either way, unless she does a back-to-back release which is unlikely, there will at least be one album not released. Why not release that in the summer, rehearse for 3 weeks for a one-off show (where you can borrow most of the choreography and song arrangements from the previous tour) and have a highly-publicised show broadcast around the world without the need to build a stage yourself. I don't think it's impossible.

This is the speech if you're interested:

U2 pretty much rescheduled their entire year, doing all the same things and same tour in 2011 that they'd originally planned for 2010. Not sure but I think Foos were similar to that.

Whereas Taylor has moved on several times over since 2020, so she'd have to either go backwards or circle around again in terms of what she's doing.
