2025 Headliners

Do others agree  that the festival has a great opportunity here to replace NY with a much better (more suited) headliner. The questions here are if they have the will or money to do so. Its easier to bump someone up when you're already sold out for example......... SZA last year or fill with a regular such as Muse, so effectively Emily would have to Want the hassle of finding a replacement.

I am a fan of Neil Youngs music but in honesty i think it was not a great choice to headline the festival. I saw him last time he headlined ( i was in the field) and although it was great for me - a lot of people didn't hang around.

I know it would be a last chance to see a legend headline but in terms of singalong hits, unfortunately he's no Elton or McCartney or arguably even Stevie wonder or Billy Joel for that matter.

Chappell with her one album has enough but Charli doesn't? She's had radio hits here for over 10 years.

I don't think either is a headliner but if Chappell has enough - Charli definitely does. She is going to kill it on Other.

Agree Sabrina is crap

I don't think Chappell should headline either. I was saying she was in better shape than Sabrina, even with only one album. I think Charli will do great on Other, but for the Pointo? Nah not for me, with 1975 and O-Rod as others. Think she would have done fine with a McCartney and another big one.

What you have to remember is that 90% of artists who are at the big stages could put on a show at the Pyramid to those who turn up and are psyched. However, they won't necessarily generate the buzz that Glasto wants. Weirdly, Charli would  given the brat chat, but I don’t think we should start handing out headline slots for gimmicks.

There is "the opportunity", but do we have the round peg for said hole? I'd say no.

GIVE US THE STONES.

Nothing wrong with liking em all, but Chappell is a class above and more unique. Chat about Sabrina headlining is mad. You may point out Primavera, but that is still mad and maybe "completing a set".

Sabrina is quite literally one of the largest artists in the world at the moment, i wouldn't say its that mad to think she could headline. I do agree Chappell is the most interesting musically, though im sure Sabrina would be well received among the masses

Talking about Sabrina stepping in to replace Neil Young feels reasonable given she wouldn't be anywhere close to the first choice and they're going to be in reactive mode and keen to avoid a repeat of SZA.

Better her than Ed Sheeran.

The 'already sold out' argument won't affect their decision choosing on a replacement for Neil Young.  The fact that we know about the negotiations with him is unusual but this is just another day in the office for the bookers.

They won't just throw anyone at it because they've sold all the tickets for this year.

Whilst i agree it shouldn't the fact that Glasto will sell out every year for the forseeable future does mean that they may not have to try as hard for a replacement as other festivals might.

I absolutely love this. I really love the idea that the festival is in an era where they can quite happily have the likes of Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo (presumably) sharing the bill. Truly multigenerational event at this stage. The music world is a better place if fans of Rodrigo are being exposed to Shakey and vice versa. It’s all just good sh*t.

Gutted not to be going this year!
