Kacey Musgraves is horseshit? Plenty of people here love her. I wonder why. Oh, good music goes beyond labels, thats it.

You don't need to be so defensive over things you like but others don't. Just like over in America, a lot of people don't know popular acts in our country or our festical. No one even knew was Glastonbury was when I went Coachella. Country isan American thing no doubt.

Caveat emptor, but The Currant Bun are claiming that Gaga ain't touring next year.

Quotes a 'Live Nation source'.

Clearly depends on what their intel is into her plans. But that would rule her out.

Now that is interesting. No shows at all, or heading back to residency territory?

Vegas Sphere perhaps? I know she did a guest appearance there during one of U2's shows so presumably the organisers of that giant boondoggle will be wanting a big name like her to turn up.

Sold out a stadium tour this year over here. Thus why he is doing Bst.

I mean, not every US stadium tour act necessarily translates to playing that level over here.

Said last time playing the UK was two shows at the Islington Assembly Hall, which is sub-1,000. Though a year of playing US stadiums would get you used to playing shows of that size.

I hate to say it to, The Post also says Lady Gaga would be in plans but her plans don't align.

Stevie Nicks says she gave Lindsey Buckingham "300 million chances" in Fleetwood Mac

I don't think Fleetwood Mac are going to be at Glastonbury tbf but this recent interview with Stevie Nicks summarised by NME saying she hasn't spoken to Lindsey Buckingham in 2 years does make one wonder if this restarted reunion is still going to be a distant affair.

I'm not saying they've got it all right, positions etc but a lot of it is adding up.

Yes, that would happen if you take all the current rumours and expectations, and sum them up with nothing new of substance.

Sorry - nothing new of substance apart from, amusingly, specifying "Friday" for O-Rod, which now appears to be wrong.

It does, what I meant to add is though we obviously don't know how long that post was ago and what can change. Like Liv may have been signed up for ages and then BST offer etc. Inevitably the main thing is getting the headliners right in whatever order. I would initially said with Rihanna they won't put her and live day to day but Fred on reflection Friday makes more sense. I think the Saturday crowd watching on the prime slot at home with warm much more to a slot from Liv or someone else.

Also I did say apart from specifically where they play. In fairness too, mcfcok said Liv was playing but only he believed it was Friday.

The Post contained a clear, strident and subsequently confirmed bursting of The Boss Bubble.

Yes, as we'd already long since known was coming. The only dissent on that would have been people working on a dream that don't come true.

So here's a bullet point list of what was covered. By my reckoning, it can be split into 4 groups - though some things should really span more than one category:

Stuff that was already confirmed / reported / expected / assumed:
- O-Rod + Fred Again to headline 2025
- Springsteen + Swift not playing in the near future
- Pulp + Oasis not playing 2025
- Jarvis to be there in some description
- Madonna + Stevie Wonder fell through for 2024

Stuff that's vague or predictable enough to be likely meaningless:
- Chappell Roan + Sabrina Carpenter not headlining in the short term / more likely lower down
- SZA + Oasis may or may not return eventually
- Simz may or may not headline 2027
- Lady Gaga + Sam Fender not to headline 2025 but are desired long term
- Idles only headlining the Pyramid if they get bigger

Stuff that we'll probably never know with confidence:
- KoL were possible for 2024 but unlikely going forward
- Stevie Wonder backup option for 2025 headline
- No interest in Eminem

Stuff that was arguably new and determinable:
- Rihanna likely to headline
- The day splits: O-Rod Friday / Fred Again Saturday / Rihanna Sunday
- B*Witched to play 2025

So unless something very unexpected happens, by my count there's only 3 things that can fairly be used to judge how accurate it ends up being. Right now the current info is that at least one of those 3 things (the headline day splits) is wrong.

I'd disagree we had any confirmation that Bruce wasn't interested again.

I'd also disagree even more so we had any idea Pulp would not play again amd feel their slot is done.

I'd disagree on the Little Simz part, it was more described as she's being viewed as a future headliner but no 👍 on what year as such.

We'd long since (several weeks beforehand) had near enough certainty that he wasn't playing in 2025, due to dates being lined up elsewhere that would rule him out (the expected show on the 27th changed city, but there was always something thought to be pencilled in for that day). And if he's not interested in 2024 or 2025, when he was active, in the approximate area, and could have made himself available, then it's fairly safe to assume Glastonbury isn't high on the agenda. That was as safe a statement as saying "there will be weather".

There had already been suggestions that they weren't lined up. I wanted (and still want) those suggestions to be wrong, but they were out there (and despite it seemingly being an easy choice, nothing at any point ruling them in). Not as safe, granted, but it was certainly in line with previous suggestions.

No matter how you summarise it, it's still vague enough to be ultimately meaningless.
