Probably - depends on when and how well a second album does I guess to far off to call at this point. Im not sure he will be back until that record is out though. 

 

As far as im aware the festival has no record of  automatically booking an act to return the next year just because they shut down the stage - But happy to be prooved wrong if you have an example.

Most people under 40 probably haven't heard of Neil Young. Can't see him headlining pyramid either.

How is it nothing? In simple terms looking like The 1975, Neil Young and O Rod as pyramid headliners. Paramore subbing . 

 

Charli XCX headlining other on the saturday too. There's more but cba with people crying about the sources.

+ The 1975, Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts and Olivia Rodrigo to headline the Pyramid Stage.

+ Stevie Wonder may well be no longer in the frame.

+ Loyle Carner looks set to step up to headline the Other Stage, as does Charli XCX.

+ Sam Fender's new setlist is a bit of a rip-off.

+ eFestivals versus Discord conflict the greatest naval battle since Jutland.

Anyone who's studied Glastonbury in relatively close detail should have heard of him given he headlined the Pyramid not all that long back.

Very few people actually 'study' Glastonbury. This board is unique in that sense.

Neil Young would be rather underwhelming  - if you're gonna put a legacy act on the pyramid headline slot, at least make it one with some intergenerational appeal. Neil Young won't pull in many of the U30s

As to whether it's true more generally that noone under 40 will have heard of Neil Young I dunno.  He doesn't have the karaoke tunes that Macca and Elton do, but he's still very much a bill topping act.

I'll be 31 years old by the time the festival comes round and I can't say I know more than a couple of Neil Young songs if I'm honest. Very underwhelming in my eyes.

If they have got Neil Young I think it will be cause they want a legacy act and it seems like only him or Stevie. If Stevie can't do it for whatever reason then NY makes sense. Plus apparently Michael likes him which I think might be a factor too.

It’s not set in stone by any means but they really seemed to be getting into a pattern of a Critical darling or “proper Festival act” / a Poppier or crowd pleaser / a Legacy act as the three headliners. Obviously Venn diagram and flexibility applies.

 

1975 / O Rod / Young really fits that. Arguments to be had over 1975 but whatever, if we get Young I’ll happily bite my tongue on them and let others have their fun.

That plus the fact that he famously smashed it last time and a good number of folk who were elsewhere that night have spent 15 years kicking themselves about it
