AFI on Main last time was a disaster, though, so I hope they aren’t on there again but if they’re coming with Green Day, they probably would be. Don’t get me wrong, I loved it when they played in 2017 and had a great time but it was the smallest crowd I’ve ever seen for a logo band on the DL Main Stage and they didn’t seem too happy up on stage, especially Davey. I’ll forever remember the image of him bellowing the end of Miss Murder and then launching the mic and storming off stage. 

 

Well they should ahead been booked in a different position. I'm a big fan but I can't pretend they were ever big enough for a 3rd down mainstage spot at Download, 4th down would have been the max. I would put them headline or maybe even subbing the Avalanche myself.

I was really excited to see AFI, but when the crowd barely seemed to look up, and Davey looked genuinely pissed off, my enthusiasm drained quickly.

 

Same happened in 2013 with Gaslight Anthem, hardly anyone seemed to care that they were playing. Both bands would have done far better on second.

They’re definitely big enough to headline Avalanche.

In promotor speak, yes it is. 5 is better than 3.

It would be like you taking 3 second choice reading subs, adding two of the same size and saying oh that's better than just those 3 lol. Like Download booking 5 bands at the top the same size as Korn with co-headliners and saying this is better lol.

I’d be surprised. They’re playing Norway on the 14th and don’t seem to be doing back to back shows unless they’re in the same country. They have at least 2 days between most dates.

It'll he Friday if they play so that 15th and 16th before Germany are free. I could just about see it at the start of a tour if they want to return to Download but Norway Friday, Download Sunday and Germany Tuesday would make more sene. It would also make Spiritbox and FIR if information is correct second stage Saturday and Sunday which do fit in well on those days. Also played Friday both times and I can see them being a great option for people who aren't needing to rush to Green Day and may like a Dogtooth band to finish with. Doing similar for the Friday this year clash first and second even works.

Because I've seen it from trusted sources elsewhere on a different platform. And to be honest if you har something on here from someone you know that's a trusted source it's usually taken as gospel too so I don't see what the difference is.

Fair enough but I just can’t see it, I think they’ll both play but they aren’t comparable to Bad Omens, Pantera and Machine Head. I could see FIR doing it but think Spiritbox will be main. Reckon we’ll get Bullet and Slayer as the other two.

People were and the other place have posted things with a good track record previously and nothing has been mentioned in either place about FIR & Spiritbox headlining the Opus. Where else is there to get info as reliable as some of the posters here and the official forums? Reddit? Facebook?

I'm not saying it's definitely happening but if Yeast or Mcfcok came in and told you it you'd probably believe it. Some people who know stuff left this board entirely through Neil being a berk.

Yes there has, you're obviously not looking correctly. Someone even replied to it being said. Just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it hasn't been said.

Please oh please link us to this post then. If it was that random account who posted the initials of bands playing, that’s phony. It goes directly against info that has been corroborated by more than one source of who is headlining.
