Nothing But Thieves are the reason I didn't go and see Green Day on their last tour. There was no way I was paying 90 quid to see Green Day and NBT when a few years prior I paid the same amount of money to see Weezer, Fall Out Boy and Green Day lol

I get this perspective but at the time £80+ was till pricey to go see Green Day. Prices the last 3 years have rocketed insanely.

Thing about MGK I find mad is that if you’re into Blink-182 I have no idea why you wouldn’t love Tickets To My Downfall, easily one of the best pop punk albums in recent years. I do feel it’s more of a dislike for him as a person and jumping on a bandwagon of hate. Would love to see him at Download.

I went to see them in Newcastle last week after my mate had a spare ticket. Only knew 2 songs and punk isn't really my thing but it's one of the best crowds I've been in all year. Think they'd absolutely smash a set at DL

Tickets to My Downfall was excellent, he still plays most of it now and after the Megan Fox split I assumed he’d bin it. Mainstream Sellout wasn’t as palatable but still good in places. Any negativity from the pop punk crowd is just gatekeeping.

Yeah Amyl are looking at it, can’t say I’m too familiar with them. Beartooth more questionable, only sold out the Friday Manc date on their last tour, by all account the Thursday Manc date was half empty. No doubting they’d pull a big crowd at Download though.

I'm not sure I could see Beartooth agreeing to a slot where they couldn't bring along decent production (pyro). Whether they merit or not is another question after the recent tour sales. I saw Amyl on the Hela Mega and I've been a huge fan ever since, their latest album is much more interesting than their previous stuff. Tickets To My Downfall is a genuinely fantastic pop-punk album and I think people have a lot more issues with who he is as a person rather than his music. NBT aren't my cup of tea at all, very boring on record and in-person, think they'd go down like a lead balloon.

 

Thinking outside the box, Roger Daltry has just announced a solo tour for April/May next year. Or Dr John Cooper Clarke who is touring next year (though this would be amazing). Mcfly v Busted taking up a big slot wouldn't surprise me and be absolutely tragic. Primal Scream maybe, just supported Alice Cooper on his arena tour. Maybe a rapper like Loyle Carner or an electronic artist getting a big slot like Skrillex. 

 

Wait...maybe the headliner is a Korn x Skrillex set playing Path of Totality in full! Boom, nailed it!

Read an interesting article on the BBC the other week about bands playing fewer dates and opting for two nights in the same city to reduce costs. Fine if you’re capable of selling the tickets but I would’ve put my house on them not selling two nights at Victoria Warehouse.

I also think they would, I think they've played tour dates that put them above 4th. I would put them below ST and Deftones though, not below Green Day.
