Dude are you okay? Korn are undoubtedly a headliner of circumstance, doesn’t mean people aren’t allowed to find it exciting. I’m excited for it. And there were bucketloads of people - here, on the forums and Facebook - who said FOB weren’t big enough. In fairness all of those people were clueless to FOB’s actual size but the point stands.

Dude I'm fine lol. Yes their headline of circumstance is that the festival were screwed all ends up lol. No one is clueless to the size of Korn though lol. Go and get Skindred headlining in 2026 because they played every 3 years, if not two as well and get a huge crowd and played Ally Pally lol.

No one is clueless to the size of Korn, yet the FB crowd (the hardest to please) seem to be lapping them up as potential headliners, your take on them is by far the most negative I’ve seen as yet. Regardless, they’ll nail that slot if it is them.

Given I think they are way overrated and suck with about two songs worth listening to that's likely lol.

No one questioning them doing well with the crowd and show, it's purely they are a weak choice and not a headline sized band whichever way you look at it.

Have Disturbed been put out there as the band that’s going to get a big reaction? Are they even about next year? And would Download ever book them again after the Barclaycard/Israel controversy this year?

Either way; let’s hope not.

They have said they're announcing UK shows for their 20th anniversary tour but they're still yet to announce any so it's possible they could be at Download again

Two years back to sub again would be a bit mad. It does seem odd though the length of time it's taking as there is nothing stopping it but there is also nothing to suggests they are in Europe elsewhere. I'm here for it though.

Korn will probably play a big chunk of what they've played at DL before. Being a headliner won't make it new.

Not saying it's not a good bump up, but please don't sell this as anything other than the often repeated booking as it is. Splitting hairs really doesn't prove anything.

None of this is false, but the whole “stop being excited about Korn, they’re not worth being excited about” attitude in this thread is positively draining.

It’s the same old doomsaying you see year in, year out. Same with the “Sleep Token aren’t headliners” nonsense.

Ok

I mean, would that be what you guys would want? I've never once considered going before, and if its true that this was originally the plan, would that direction go down well? It doesn't feel like a Download lineup to me, and obviously they haven't managed it by the sounds of it, it indicates what they do want for future years

I think it would look like a Reading lineup that could have been booked anywhere between 2007 and 13 lol.

haha pretty much...though it sounds a lot more what I'd have always expected from Download

I'd have said it sounded like you don't mind but not finishing on but fair.

Personally the music is secondary for me

This years lineup was pretty poor for my taste overall but I still had the time of my life

This years headliners (if the leaks are true) are a lot better for my tastes

I'd prefer Korn over MCR and Muse but I obviously understand that those two bands are bigger and would sell more tickets

As if Download would ever have the budget for 3 stadium level bands in the same year. The undercard would just be Benji Webbe compering between Skindred & Elvana sets

 See 2010

Without a proper answer to WWWY in the UK, surely Slam Dunk and Download will be duking it out to grab that crowd?

So don't think Green Day/MCR/Muse would've been unsurprising. They showed that this year by booking FOB.

I think it's a case of the average goer is probably happier to see them further down the lineup than higher up. Download has been their sacred heavy rock/metal haven. But they aren't drying because the lack of giving bump ups.

Slam dunk wish they had a tenth of the budget of WWWY.

As for Download, it’s a different beast but given it’s sold out two years running I don’t think they’re after that particular crown.

Were Rage a stadium act at the time? Or Aerosmith for that matter? Genuinely asking because I’d assumed both of those bands were high-arena level at that moment in time but could be wrong.

I'd have said RATM were headline ever since they returned in 2007. Can't speak to Aerosmith.
